Historic San Juan hotel blends serenity and sophistication
InterContinental San Juan Resort & Casino has the look and feel of Miami Beach hotels in their heyday. The hotel was designed and built in the late 1950s by a prominent architect and maintains suave sophistication. From the lobby, two grand staircases overlook tall, arched windows, soft chairs and high-backed benches. The lounge is a rich collection of marble, dark wood and candles. Guest rooms are elegant. Canopies of trees, gardens and stone fountains open onto one of Puerto Rico's most beautiful beaches.Highlights
- Located on picturesque Isla Verde Beach
- Historic architecture
- On-site spa and casino

Comfortable Hotel in Great Location
Overall my experience was great. The hotel really has everything you could ask for from a beach vacation hotel. I went for the weekend with my sister and had a great time. The staff was always very professional and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool is stunning. Note: In May it rains in PR, but the sun came out every day and my tan is amazing.

nice hotel but away from everything
We stayed here for a long weekend, the hotel is nice, great pool area, direct beach access. The airport is 5 min away by car, no night life or good restaurant options in the area, nothing to explore around the hotel, very boring, except for El San Juan next door with their nightclub and restaurants. Old town ( $23 cab ride one way) is a must see.

Pretty decent
Staff is the best, location is awesome. Hotel is right on a main drag where there are lots of shops and restaurants. If you're looking for a secluded resort, stay somewhere else. There were some fees at checkout that we had no expected. Room was average--would have liked to have a screen door on the balcony to keep the door open and mosquitoes out. Food and drinks at the hotel are overpriced, especially breakfast buffet. Spa was awesome--best massages we've ever had. Fitness center was also nice, and 24 hours.

Great place, pricey!
Hotel was great... but pricey. Drinks at the bars cost $11+... very slow service as well, meaning wait staff, front desk staff and bar staff. Getting extra towels to your room takes time too. And the elevators were even very slow. The surrounding area of the hotel is very urban.. aka KFC, McDonalds, Burger King. Was hoping for a more authentic tropical surroundings. If you are going to the beach or pool, go EARLY! The good space runs out early. The gym facility was very nice as well.

Great Fun!!! Comfy Hotel with nice staff!!!
The staff is very friendly, the hotel was very beautiful and clean..Some of the bathrooms by the pool needs a little updating though. Fridge in the room looks old and dingy. There is no breakfast included. This place is good for family vacation. It has a nice big pool and right at the beach. The beach water is kinda rough. Its very close to the airport, close to Old San Juan, driving close to El Yunque, Luquillo, etc. There's alot of restaurants across the street, fast food and local food. Bk, Wendy's, Taco Bell, KFC, Chili's, Mi Casitas has good breakfast. There's a grill place in hotel where you can sit by the beach where they have awesome food. I loved their Nacho Supreme, its a little pricy, but worth it. There is a Walgreens few blocks away. There is a car rental place very convenient in hotel and a few blocks away. You can drive to El Yunque and Luquillo yourself to save some money. The distance is not far at all. Luquillo beach's water is much calmer than the beach at the hotel. Safe location to be in. You can book a cheaper hotel but you will get what you pay for. The service, and the atmosphere of the hotel is fabulous. My first time to PR and it was great!!!

Nice Resort, Good Location
Our room was small but clean. Definitely upgrade to the ocean view unless you want to overlook the parking lot and fast food restaurants. The lagoon view room was quite noisy at times. The pool/beach area was very nice, you couldn't really tell you were in the middle of the city. The hotel restaurants and bars were expensive but there were several nice restaurants within walking distance that were nice. We went to walgreens and bought some food and beer to avoid the cost at the hotel. Overall, great experience for the price.
