The location is accessible to Old San Juan and walking distance to the beach. The hotel is in need for serious updates. The first room we were in smelled like mild dew.The furniture looked like 70's throw back and I felt like I was in the
projects. Our room was changed to a healthier smelling room. If your just looking for a place to lay your head, but plan on spending little time in your room, then I guess you'll be ok.
I upgraded the room to two double beds, frig and microwave. Stayed six nights - great location, block from beach. Walk to stores and Casino's.
Rented a car and had to pay 7.00 per night to park, should be included!
Room was clean and had big
balcony. Not all rooms have balconies.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Long walk from hotel
Across the street and roughly 4 blocks down visit the El San Juan Hotel and Casino for weekend Salsa dancing and cocktails.
This hotel is great for the price. It has convenient access to the beach and the rooms were well-equipped and clean. The place is a little run down and some people in the party complained of a musty smell, but we didn't spend much time in the
hotel. So it was fine over-all. Breakfast comes with the room, but it's pretty meager, so I usually went to the Starbucks in the El San Juan hotel a few blocks away. NOTE: Some of the rooms don't have windows! Luckily I read reviews before I booked, so I made sure to reserve the rooms with windows.
The hotel was excellent for the price. The parking accomodations was also excellent for the price. It was a last minute decision and it worked out great! Staff was very helpful, they could never do enough for you. Overall, excellent experience.
