the hotel staff was good,exellent,location room was kept clean it wasnot that much amenites,around the hotel,the beach was close to the hotel overall it was good,will recommend this hotel

After a very short drive from the airport we were at the hotel. The staff was courteous and receptive. The hotel was clean and modern. The room was basic but it had everything we needed to base our vacation right there for 5 nights. As soon as we cheked in we walked across the street to the beach. It is great to have Carolina Beach, the upscale neighborhood, and all the food choices within walking distance. Lots of American food chain restaurants and a bunch of local places as well. The only dings are for the pool being cold, and the air conditioning being too cold on the 6th floor and our room. It had two settings, off and freezing cold. But all things considered it was a great location. Even had a Walgreen a block away. From here you can find a number of car rental places

The first surprise we got when we checked in was that the HOTEL, CHARGED $7.00 PER DAY TO PARK! BUT, you didn't know this until you were already past the parking barrier. NICE CATCH! I was incredibly unhappy about that. WHAT HOTEL CHARGES THEIR GUESTS TO PARK? Oh yes, HOWARD JOHNSONS. Incidently, I've stay at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC. They don't charge to park and this doesn't even compare! The staff was good, the rooms fair to avg. Hotel needs tons of upgrades. At breakfast the first morning there were bugs flying around the dining room!. Not a good start to our trip.

room was ok cleaned very good,parking pay more because they rent the space for somevary else and is 6.95more dollar a day and space is little.

The hotel location is pretty good, we are not sun-worshippers so not being beach front was not a big deal. We were a true 5 minutes walk from the beach. It is on the bus route for local stuff and car rentals are right there for more adventurous travels. We got there on Saturday and Hurricane Irene hit Sunday. Being Florida-based hurricane veterans, we knew how uncomfortable it could be. Howard Johnsons easily exceeded all expectations. They obviously had a substantial generator serviced and ready to go. The only service we lost was the TV. All hotel services remained operational. Yes, the A/C, the elevators and the in-house restaurant all continued flawlessly. While many guests at the much pricier hotels sweltered in the dark on the outside verandahs, we were able to continue a somewhat damp but enjoyable visit, then retire to an Air Conditioned hotel room before (and after) dinner. The staff was what one would expect, courteous and polite. Same with amenities....except for that big ol' generator. Kudos to the management and engineering staff.

This hotel is perfect if you are going to be gone all day and just need a place to sleep. The location is great 5 minutes away from airport and a burger king is right next door. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance. The complimentary breakfast was terrible but the view from eating area was beautiful. Would recommend the hotel to someone who is going to Puerto Rico on a business trip.

I was only here for one night, and had an early flight the next day. The service was fine--the staff were moderately friendly. The room had no windows, which unnerved me a bit as I had an early flight and was worried about the pitch-black room. However, if you like to sleep late and don't mind a lack of a view it's fine. Plus the windowlessness was noted in the description so no surprises there. The pool was very crowded so if that's part of the appeal you should note that you'll be jostling to get in there.

i enjoy with my son the pool, very clean and weather was perfect for this activity, i went to visit different places at san juan, aguadilla, etc, i have a good time, people that work at the front desk are very friendly , they help you to find direction in Puerto Rico for example they call for me to different place to find out information about prices,and opening hours etc, the hotel is very clean, it included free continental breakfast this save you money and time in the morning

The hotel was clean and the service from the employees was great!!
