Great place to stay in Old San Juan

Would recommend Wed, May 6, 2015
It was an place to stay in the old city. Walking distance from the fort. Parking is not very easy here. I regret getting a rental car. The building is very old but, renovated. Rooms are good. If you are looking for a modern room and can compromise on the rustic feel, there are other places to stay. Overall a good experience and staff were very helpful and courteous.

Worth it for your buck!

Would recommend Mon, Apr 6, 2015
I like to explore whatever new area I'm in as much as I can. I don't care about the resorts or beach, I want to feel like a local. The location for this place is AMAZING. The staff is great (perfect English). The area is safe (my girlfriend and I walked around with no problems day and night) and for what we paid, it couldn't have been better. The hotel itself is a little grungy. It didn't feel gross like some Econo Lodge in Grenta, LA (worst hotel/staff I've ever encountered), but it wasn't super clean. The pillows were terrible and because the ceilings are so high, you can hear everyone outside the door. Honestly, if you want to spend your money on the experience and you're just looking for a place to recharge...BOOK IT NOW. But luxury-wise, you're getting what you pay for. Again, the location is incredible, plus they have wifi for free so you can find stuff and the staff doesn't mind answering questions.

Stayed Before Cruise

Would recommend Fri, Jan 9, 2015
A charming, very old, colonial style hotel in the heart of Old San Juan. I stayed in a wondowless room, however, there was a "window" or grating above the door, so it was not claustrophobic for me. The price is right & it's a wonderful location to spend the night before leaving on a cruise. There's a lovely plaza area across the street for coffee, etc. I must say, the bathroom was below the regular cleanliness one expects in a hotel...soap scum, etc. on the soap holders & showers, etc.. However, for the price, it was lovely and I would absolutely stay there again!

Great smaller hotel

Would recommend Wed, Dec 31, 2014
I stayed here after returning from a cruise so we could check out Old San Juan. This hotel was perfect for the price. It was a clean place to stay and allowed us to keep our bags there until check in. This is not a huge name brand hotel so dont expect all the fancy things. But this was a very clean place with great accomodations. I would stay here again!

Get what you pay for.....

Would not recommend Mon, Oct 6, 2014
For what I needed the hotel worked fine. I had a king room with windows that faced the street. My only recommendation to anyone staying in one of these rooms is to bring ear plugs because it is true what other have stated about the delivery trucks outside the hotel at 4am. If you like to sleep, then get one of the interior rooms with no windows. The wifi worked fine in the lobby every time I needed it. If you are someone who is very picky about hotels then I would not recommend this hotel. It provided a decent room (my room had a microwave and small fridge) and nothing else besides the free wifi. The location of the hotel is however central to everything.

Nightlife hint

If you like to drink, there are bars everywhere within walking distance of this hotel.

Basic room, central to all the sights of Old San Juan

Would recommend Wed, May 21, 2014
We booked this hotel room for one night in a pinch. It is set in a utilitarian building, many rooms do not have windows, but just the basics. The room was clean, the AC worked well, and you receive the value of its discounted price. Our room card key often required a dozen swipes to function...These little details matter far less when you realize you are steps from all the shops, cafes, and restaurants Old San Juan has to offer. Park you belongings here and plan to take your vacation to the cobble stone streets.

Dining

Find the guy with the shaved ice cart. Ask for Tamarindo and Crema. A little tart a little sweet, you will not be disppointed.
