Area description
Miramar is, for the most part, a quiet, unassuming neighborhood across the water from Condado. It's a mix of residential community, business sector, and some admittedly shady areas. But Miramar's fortune changed with the arrival of the Puerto Rico Convention Center. An architectural wonder, the center is still putting it's stamp on the neighborhood, but it has already transformed the landscape.
Directions from San Juan Airport: Take Route 26 West to San Juan. Take exit: "Ave RH Todd-Santurce Pda.18-Condado Centro".Turn left at street light. Turn right onto Ponce de Leon Ave (Rt.25). Hotel is at the end of the avenue on your left. Stay on the inside left lane and make a U turn to access the hotel.

Nice Stay, friendly staff, clean,

Have a nice stay in PR, visiting family and friends. Hotel staff were friendly. Hotel was clean. Breakfast was good. The Bistro Restaurant was good. And the hotel is centrally located accesible to amenities, to other hotels, museums and restaurants, and close to Old San Juan.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

Shopping in Old San Juan, and in Plaza las Americas Shopping Center. Good restaurants everywhere, as well as hotels with casinos and entertainment. Good bakeries. Recommend Kasalta Bakery. Cafe Valencia Restaurant in Hato Rey - highly recommended although pricey, but good Spanish food. We recommend Al Dente Italian Restaurant in Old San Juan - food was excellent.

Comfortable, friendly hotel

Hotel is well-situated in the residential neighborhood of Miramar, within walking distance of the beaches of Condado and only a short bus ride to Old San Juan. The rooms are large and equipped with refrigerators and microwaves. Very clean. Not fancy and not perfectly new, but homey. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Wireless internet in rooms and two computers in the lobby if you travel sans laptop. Gorgeous sunroof with views of the ocean. The location on Ponce de Leon is convenient since several major bus routes run on it frequently. Down the street from a large supermarket and wondrous pharmacy that stocks a bit of everything. Only missing a pool. But it is a very short walk to the beach.

Punta del Este, a charming Uruguayan restaurant (who knew there was such thing?) is a few blocks up the street. Menu specials are delicious and excellent bargains. Ignore the tacky street sign. The restaurant is the real deal

Will stay again for sure!!

Comfortable, clean, and most of all as a single female, it was safe. Nice distance between the airport and the cruise terminal. Sufficient continental breakfast and a beautiful roof top patio. I will stay here for sure if I cruise out of San Juan again.

wish i would hae stayed on coronado beac

It was within walking distance to beach, but not a good area of town. No pool available, but had sundeck. Free breakfast was minimal. Clean and quiet hotel. Wish I would have stayed on coronado beach which was a few streets over.

Fantastic

the hotel is very quaint and personnel were very courteous. We arrived hours before check in time but they accomodated us and gave us a room facing the ocean. Breakfast is not bad to start the day with and can last you until lunch. Dining and shopping around the area is also very easy to access either by car or by walking. I will definitely come back here for future vacations in puerto rico.

Mixed feelings about this hotel

When we arrived there was nobody at the front desk. We had to ask the bartender for help and she was very nice and found a staff person to check us in. The check-in guy didn't want to be bothered with us... he had a personal call to attend to. He checked us in grudgingly. He was very rude and did not give us any information about the hotel. We found out the next day that there was actually a continental breakfast and a gym at this hotel. The hotel itself is pretty charming. The rooms are adequate. On the small side but clean. If it wasn't for the bad experience checking in, I would have given it 4 stars.

Amazing Customer Service

My first experience with Hotel Miramar was an email, I had reached out to the hotel in regards to the local tours offered and received a reply within hours. [...] is amazing, not only she did reserve an amazing tour for us, but upgraded us to a great view of the Condado Lagoon, and gave us great insight on getting around in San Juan. She is a stellar employee and they are lucky to have her. This is an unforgetable trip for us because it was boyfriend's 30th birthday but we also got engaged and [...] made it that much more special.

Los Pinos is literally right across the street from the hotel, it has great local cuisine and is open 24 hours, which is great if you get back late to the hotel from a tour.

Hard to get too

The beach is a small and a 15 min walk from the hotel, you have to cross two highways and a bridge to get to it. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful, they even reserved a parking spot for us before we arrived.
