An Historic Experience

El Convento is located in Old San Juan away from the noise of the tourist area. It is lovely, well appointed, and the staff just can't do enough for you. Be warned, though. The hotel is located across the plaza from the San Juan Cathedral. It is very popular with the locals and the plaza is alive with school groups every Saturday. We found it charming, not noisy. Out room had two double beds which made it a bit tight to move around. Internet service was provided. When we return, we'll opt for a single king or queen for the extra leg room.

A Unique and Fun Puerto Rico Destination

If you are looking for a unique Puerto Rico experience, that is also a more traditional, authentic one, El Convento will not disappoint. The architecture and decor is georgous and the hospitality is wonderful. The front desk was helpful and friendly with what ever questions we had. Old San Juan has planty to see and do. We walked to El Castillo San Felipe del Morro, which is perfect for an afternoon picnic. There are great places to stop for a bite to eat. We reccommend St Germaine for delicious salads and sandwiches, with excellent Tiramisu. While walking around Old San Juan is easy to do, there are numerous things to do that are only a short drive away. We felt comfortable renting a car and driving on our own to explore. My husband went Tarpon fishing with "Magic Tarpon", we snorkled and went zipling with "El Yunque Adventures" in the Yunque Rainforest. By far, aside from enjoying a relaxing vacation with my husband, the best excursion on my trip was the ziplining. [...] and [...] are extremely saftey concious and educational.

memorable girls getaway

When we pulled up to the hotel, it was just like the website. very beautiful and nothing whatsoever was misleading. The atrium and the room was beautiful. WE did have a problem with our air conditioner in the room, which made our room hot, so as soon as we notified the front desk, they quickly moved us to another room. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was superb! the location is also the best! Thank you El Convento!

Long weekend getaway

El Convento is great. Location is perfect in old San Juan. Not too close and not too far away from the action. The restaurants on site are great and the rooms are small, but clean. The pool is also pretty small, nothing more than a large tub. Wine and cheese at 6pm is a great way to start your evening.

Beautiful Hotel

We stayed in the hotel for 8 nights, Room Service was very friendly. The Concierge was extraordinarily helpful in getting us tickets to the Bio Bay tour. The hotel was quiet and peaceful. The free wine and cheese was always staked and the hot tube and pool on the upper balcony were very relaxing. From this Hotel we were able to walk to El Morro (about 10 minute walk) and where they dock the cruise ships (another 10 minute walk).
