Good but Budget Hotel in Condado
I would recommend this B&B for people who are on budget spending a long weekend in Puerto Rico. The B&B has a superb location, located 2 blocks from the beach, has a small yard where folks have breakfast. It is not a luxury accommodation- there is no pool, rooms are small but clean. Shower water volume is variable, so room for improvement. Taxi to old san juan is $16. For the price we paid, it was worth it.

Perfect winter getaway
First time in Puerto Rico. My husband and I booked this hotel for the location, value, and because we prefer smaller hotels to large resorts. Couldn't have been happier! The room was comfortable and clean, staff very kind and helpful, and the location is 2 blocks from the beach and anything else you could want to do. Ed was so helpful with tips on restaurants and what to do and made us feel very welcome. Tips- if you get a car, closest parking is in the mariott at 18/day. You will not be able to find street parking.

Travel on a Budget
This hotel is in a great location, right across the street from many $300-per-night hotels. Staff is generally nice but very hard to find if you need help. Do not book based on free adventure tour deals. After 5 days of trying to work it out with the front desk, we gave up and called to complain. We never went on a free tour- sold out or undersold so unavailable. Hotel room was fairly comfortable. Little bugs were in our room by the window, but we were happy with the value overall.

“Laid back in the tropics”
I can not say enough good things about this motel. My boyfriend and I arrived at this beautiful place in the early afternoon and were warmly Greeted by Ed Vandenberg, he told us about breakfast, The parking situation, ingress and egress, about how to get to the close by beach, and of the many restaurants all within very close walking distance. Starbucks is just across the street as a delightful Turkish restaurant. Later that night we discovered Fuzion Kitchen, and Bar by accident only a few blocks away, we lucked out as tuesday is "half of everything" night. We easily got back thru the keyed gate past the little pond, around the potted plants and flowers, just at the same time this lovely night bird was signing, only to later find out that this is not a bird at all but actually a little frog the Coqui, that sings just like a medium sized bird! and you hear it at night all over the island. The ocean just 1 1/2 blocks away is the huge sandy Condado beach, surfers, great restaurants, easy street parking, actually we found the beach and motel even more beautiful and spectacular than the photos. As one reviewer said "this is more guest house" than motel. All the staff was friendly and helpful, and Belle, Ed's cute l'il dog always friendly and wanting to be pat. Our room was clean and comfy. TV, fan and AC. We had an upper room in the back section very nice and quite, free WIFI in the comfortable patio/reception area. The only drawback that could be said is the parking situation, none at Casa del Carib, and $18/nite at the nearby Marriott Hotel. (normally $35).We solved the problem of expense by simply parking on the street in the neighborhood, at most we had to park 4 blocks away usually much closer. It is free , safe, and unlimited, no meter maids cruising to give you a ticket or parking permits required nor any time limitations. It really was not a problem all and we always found a spot during all times of the day. We would highly recommend this convient, beautiful and romantic place to stay in Candado the gay section, and will return for sure. Stayed December 2012, traveled as a couple

Worst than expected
The location was great. It was close to walgreens and many restautants. The water pressure was weak. Sheets were dirty, doesnt even look like they change them. My arms and legs had marks on it. I think its bed bugs. Ed was informative. I wasnt even looking for a nice hotel but this was worst than i imagined.
