Area description
There is no place quite like a tropical volcanic island, and no island in the Caribbean quite like Puerto Rico. The geography of the island is very unusual, as it encompasses distinctly different kinds of topography and microclimates in a relatively small area. A rugged mountain range runs across the center from east to west, which often prevents rain clouds from passing to the south. The north side of the island is covered by dense vegetation, limestone formations, and rushing streams, while, the south side is sun-toasted terrain, home to tropical dry forests and many species of exotic birds. Puerto Rico is only about 100 miles long and 35 miles wide, so its most distant points are only a three-hour drive apart. It also means that just about every tropical landscape in existence is a short trip from wherever you happen to be.

Relax & Enjoy

The location of this resort was truly great. Its views were spectacular. The accomodations (lots to see and do) were wonderful. The choice of places on site to dine was terrific. The only negative we found was that despite paying for our room plus a daily 14% resort fee on top of that, you still had to pay extra to rent the kayaks or snorkling equipment etc. This was a surprise to us, as we were under the impression it would have been included as part of our resort stay.

Amazing Honeymoon!

The first room we were given was a great room, but the bathroom wasn't clean. Perhaps room service hadn't gotten to that room yet since we were checking in so early (noon). We called up the front desk and they moved us to another room which was fantastic. The view was gorgeous. The location was great. Overall our trip was incredible. The hotel location is within walking distance to Old San Juan, but we didn't mind the $10-$12 taxi fare. We did walk to Condado a few times (to dine at Ajilli Mojilli). We did a bunch of tours, all of which accommodated travel and picked us up right at the front lobby area. We went kayaking in Bio Bay, snorkeling off Icacos and a private island, hiking in El Yunque rainforest, swimming in Luquillo beach, and took a tour of Old San Juan. This was by far the best trip I've ever taken and I've been all over. The hotel was gorgeous! Amazing pool area, great private beach, fun outside games, outside hammocks, great restaurants, etc!

Everywhere we ate in San Juan was great (Latin Roots, Toro Salao, Pina Colada Club, etc) except Raices! It was very overpriced and the service could hardly be called that. They just hosed up the order from the beginning and did stuff that irks me like bring out the appetizers after the main course etc.

MOST AMAZING HOTEL IN SAN JUAN

The hotel itself was amazing. Right on the beach. Exclusive beach with 3 pools, water falls & sundeck to lay out. The staff there was very friendly. Great atmosphere for all ages. I suggest that you shouldn't eat at the hotel because it was very expensive. Old San Juan is right next to the hotel. About a 10 min ride. Super fun.

Experience the food at Old San Juan. Only thing close to the hotel is Morton's Steakhouse and Subway. They have restaurants inside, but very expensive. The breakfast brunch was pretty good though. Ask the front desk to give you vochers to get free coupons for the brunch.

Wonderful Experience

I stayed at the Caribe Hilton for 6days, I'm a single mom with a 10yr old son.......WE HAD A BLAST!!!! The beach, swimming pools, and view is impeccable!!!I enjoyed my stay; They even had a game room for the children to play!!! This is the best kid friendly hotel EVER!!! The only down fall the restaurants in the hotel are kinda pricey, especially if your staying over 5 days..Breakfast is not included!!! Transportation is always available. All water sports vary in price from 20-45.00.........Plan ahead and take a lot of pictures, and make a lot of change for the bus......You will need it!!!!

Great place to vacation

The Caribe Hilton was a great resort. It was very comfortable, with terrific ameninties. They had a large pool with a pool side bar/ grill, tennis courts, volleyball courts, a spa and fitness center, and a tropical gardens sanctuary which was beautiful. In addition, the resort has its own private beach which was very convienent. My only complaint is that the floor in which i stayed on (3rd floor) was carpeted and smelled liked mildew, but once you were in the room there was no smell at all. The room had a small intimate balcony which was nice, and fresh white linens which i am always a fan of..overall great experience, i would definitely go back! Ohh, and public transportation is cheap..bus fare is only 50 cents, better to take the bus or walk (there are a lot of great places within walking distance) than to take a cab!

Excellent choice

Everything went very well, everyone who worked there was very polite and helpful, but not pushy at all, which was nice, we were very pleased with the fitness facility and the healthy little restaurant at the fitness facility as well. We also liked having access to the internet when we needed it. A couple of the restaurants at the hotel were a little high in price, but there was one which overlooked the ocean which was very reasonably priced and excellent, so we were fine. The beach and pool were excellent, the location of the hotel was excellent, and we were just very pleased with everything, so we would defintely recommend this hotel and this vacation to our friends.

The Rain Forest tour was excellent; you take a nice little bus ride through Puerto Rico, the guide tells you some history of the Island, and you take an excellent tour of the Rain Forest. Good times! Shopping and visiting Old El San Juan is a quick cab ride as well. Very nice!

Fantastic location and beautiful hotel

The room was very clean and wonderful view of San Juan. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. One of the staff members Johanna helped us so much and even showed us how to catch the bus and the ferry to go to the Bacardi plant. The beach is so beautiful surrounded by hammocks and lots of nice resting areas. It could not get any better than this.
