The boutique inn's lush, walled garden leads into the entrance hall decorated with local art. Rooms have light-colored furniture and bright sunflower-printed bedspreads. A 28-foot tiki bar, built to resemble a sail boat, offers cool drinks and coffee. At Wind Chimes Inn also has a quaint library, a sun deck and a courtyard. Lounge chairs line the lagoon-style pool which has a hot tub and a water wall.

Good Stay at At Wind Chimes Inn

Great location one block from a quiet and beautiful beach, and one block from hip Loiza Street for good food and shopping, etc. The bi-lingual staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nothing fancy, but it didn't need to be because the hotel itself is so charming. The outdoor bar was a little weird in that it rarely seemed staffed or open.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Komali's "Juice Bar" at Taft and Loiza was a great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner and there's El Rex behind it for drinks at night. Went there for a healthy breakfast nearly every day of our stay.

Great location excellent value

This place was perfect for what we needed. It was clean, the staff was friendly, and the hotel was in walking distance to anything we could need. I originally was kind of skeptical about the hotel. I had read some of the reviews and was unsure what to expect. We arrived in the evening and there was a sign on the door to check in at the sister hotel down the street. But after a few minutes of ringing the buzzer someone came to the front door and let us in. It took a while to check in, as the clerk was new, but we were pleasantly greeted and shown to our room. The clerk gave us some advice of local restaurants in the area. The area is safe and close to many amenities. There were shops and restaurants very close. Kasalta, Bebos, and many other restaurants and shops were within walking distance. The beach was a block away. They have a nice bar in the back of the hotel that was recently renovated. The only drawback was that I was literally eaten alive by the mosquitoes back there. It is a nice retreat and they have a huge wide screen TV to watch sports and relax. Ileana the bartender was helpful with local places to try and things to do while in San Juan. There is a pool that we used daily. It is small but clean and well serviced. I would stay here again and I would recommend it to friends and family.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Pinky's serves a great breakfast. It is just a short walk down the road. For authentic Puerto Rican dishes try Bebo's about 2 blocks away from the hotel. Both places are moderately priced.

Great experience and terrific value

Really nice setting. Easy walk to Ocean Beach, close to Condado but you feel away from the tourist throngs. Easy cab or bus to Old San Juan. The boutique hotel is homey, clean, very comfortable but not elegant. Service is terrific, friendly and helpful. You also have open access to their other hotel Acacia, which feels a bit more chic and European. My third visit to San Juan and favorite place I've stayed so far.
