Good Stay at At Wind Chimes Inn

Great location one block from a quiet and beautiful beach, and one block from hip Loiza Street for good food and shopping, etc. The bi-lingual staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nothing fancy, but it didn't need to be because the hotel itself is so charming. The outdoor bar was a little weird in that it rarely seemed staffed or open.

Komali's "Juice Bar" at Taft and Loiza was a great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner and there's El Rex behind it for drinks at night. Went there for a healthy breakfast nearly every day of our stay.

Not good enough

The good: big room, nice old building, working a/c, Aida and Jose were great front desk folks, $90 is not bad... but there is a parking surcharge for those who want to save themselves the parking headache in condado. Bad: Front desk Calvin is rude and remorseless: refused to apologize for leaving the hotel for a claimed "5 minutes" ( was more like 10) while we were stuck outside (90 degrees), on the street ringing the door bell and calling the front desk. He should have at least posted a sign at the gate letting customers know he's out and would be back at a certain time. Worse we had to park 4 blocks away and walk to this place. His brash, abrasive, unapologetic behavior is the worst I've ever experienced. No "I'm sorry", no gestures of appeasement. Worse, he was rude and snide when he told us we should have looked on Taft st for parking...not 4 whole blocks away". How the heck do out-of-towners know where to find on-street parking while checking in to a hotel??? He is not a good match for hospitality industry. Then, We couldn't find him later because he was elsewhere... when we did find him, he complained about having to be "housekeeping, maintenance, and front desk... and be everywhere at all times..." I smell Management issues. Room linen/ towels were bloody or "rusty" depending on who or how you see it. I see blood, not rust (as I was told). Dust on the fans, dust on the curtains. Lack of employees and distressed feeling overall. There are better options for just a little more.

Charming for the price

A nice, quaint little place. The room was spacious with a bed big enough for FOUR and my own private terrace. However, if you have much luggage,beware...NO ELEVATOR! Thankfully the desk clerk carried my HEAVY bags up and downstairs for me. If you want to eat you have to either walk down the street to the sister hotel or walk/cab further into Condado. Staff was AWESOME!!

Great Location!

I booked at Wind Chimes but was upgraded to Acacia (sister hotel) just across the street about 100 feet away. Acacia Boutique hotel is located just steps away from the beach and close enough to all the action on Ashford Avenue that you can walk to restaurants, casinos and nightspots in the Condado area, but still get away from all of the action. This hotel has quite a bit of charm and is a great value. They even have a nice moderately priced restaurant on site (apps around $10/ entrees around $30). Parking can be a little tricky, but you can find a $free spot if your timing is right.

Very Good venue for a short break

The best at all is the Puertorican people, they are so familiar and very good hosts. Con ? there are always hidden costs , so I recommend call, and do any question even looks idiots .Ex. parking cost . Hotel bar so expensive. Everything else I found very good and would return to stay at this hotel

Not to my expectations

Overall my stay was pleasant since it was a short visit, weekend trip. However being on numerous vacations the hotel did not include all the amenities I am used to when I go on vacation. The location was perfect a block away from the beach. I also thought my stay included breakfast which was not what I was told at the front desk. It was not what I expected. I will definitely stay again if it's a short stay.

It was ordinary

We reached the hotel and were told tht our room has been upgraded to a better one but it was a different hotel , but right around the corner. We were given a bigger room . The only flaw was tht it was too dingy. Had no windows n hence no sunlight. Apart from this the experience was ok. It was situated at a stone throw distance from the beach.
