If your looking for a killer beach, this is the place! Huge, clean and private. Get a rental car at the airport, hotel is not close to anything but the rain forest and taxi cabs are VERY expensive and VERY sketchy.

Perfect Vacation!

The hotel is getting completely remodeled so everything is brand new. The room was beautiful with a great balcony. Hotel concierge was amazing, they were so helpful in making our trip truly memorable. The pools are great and the Iguana's Pub restaurant was absolutely amazing. Be sure to get a mofongo dish. The beach is close and convenient but not the most crystal clear water. For the caribbean I was definitely disappointed. It was so affordable as a vacation package and I would highly recommend to anyone!

Renovated was the excuse we heard about lack of quality service. Beautiful location and view. I would go back after renovations are complete.

Great Spot, Still Renovating

Overall the place really suited our needs. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, though it did seem apparent that it was off season. There was always a restaurant open, but some nights others would be closed without much notice to us. Great deal overall.

Stay at grand rio mar

This was nice hotel with all amenities...the location was good only one thing that can be improved is restaurant timings. They get closed at 10pm which is too early.

Wyndham

Hotel was nice, parking garage needs better lighting, & remodel. Parking garage elevator was broken for about 1/2 our stay - long walk to and from garage. Tiki restaurant on beach closes the kitchen @ 6pm (really!?) The hotel sits on the beach with awesome view, unfortunately it's a long drive from main road & roads on facility are poorly lit and very narrow. If you plan on staying @ the beach your entire vacation, it's great but very expensive to eat & drink there. The hotel is far from most sight-seeing attractions. So make sure you rent a car if you plan on going off-site.

Muy Bueno!

Even though our flight was a little late our transportation was there to take us. The hotel was beautiful and our room had just be remodeled and had a balcony with a view of the pool and the ocean, perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was amazing. What else can I say but that we would go back and do it again.

Great location, average resort

We had booked the rainforest view room and it was comfortable and clean. For a four star hotel, I would have expected fridge but it was extra. The rooms were cleaned every day and towels replaced. The staff were friendly. The tv in the room was small with poor reception. The restaurants in the hotel were very pricey and the food was average except for Palio which was the most expensive. The resort itself is out of the way and you definitely need a car which we rented from kthe airport. Drivers is Puerto Rico are reckless and I would recommend buying car insurance while booking for peace of mind. The cars also have dings so make sure to note them before taking the car. Also get the toll pass .The location of the hotel is good for visiting nearby attractions like rainforest and loquillo beach. We also took the ferry to culebra and had a nice time at the beach there which is absolutely beautiful. We visited the fort in San Juan and also the casa Bacardi which were interesting trips. The outlet mall in pr 66 has a nice food court with variety of choices so do go there. We also went to Richies which was pricey but the food and the views were great. We did ziplining which was fun. The resort itself has no activity. The pool is average and closes way too early. The beach is adjacent but one can't swim in it. Wish breakfast would have been included in the price.

dissappointed

The water got turned off without being given a heads up and when asking how long before the issue was resolved the staff said she doesn't know and this happens alot. The resort is in a secluded area and food is expensive. 26.00 ( including all taxes and gratuity) for eggs, home fries, and bacon is flat out ridiculous. Water was 4.00 a bottle. .My first day housekeeping showed up after 6pm even after calling several times they still came late. The tiki bar closed at 6 and the restaurants on site are not going to be open on some days, which limits you to choosing meals..The overall resort is gorgeous, but the room is average and I recommend getting a rental car. The rainforest tour is actually free but advertising showed 65 per person ( the fee is for transportation). Be sure to ask questions because there is a lot of misinformation given and hidden fees. Stop at the market called Amigos on your way there and rent a refrigerator for water, juice, fruits, etc. Especially if you have kids. This is very family oriented so you will want to go to San Juan if you're looking for night life.
