Nice family get getaway

The resort was beautiful, but the food was very pricey!!!!!!!! They also charge one hundred dollars extra on my card for each night i was there, since they don't accept cash at their bars, they bill it to your room and take it from the money they charged from your card. i loved that it was right on the beach!! It was fun and peaceful!! me and my family had a blast!

Should be 1 Star

I reserved a double bed room and they didn't have any when I checked in so they game me one with a king and a sofa bed. The first night, the hotel sheets were dirty and had a huge blood stain on them which was completely gross because it was at the head of the bed and was just folded in to hopefully not notice. Also, the first night I informed the hotel that I was not going to be staying the night for the weekend but was NOT checking out because we were coming back on Sunday and I knew I would have to pay anyway for those nights. I came back Sunday night and my keys still worked but get to the room and ALL my stuff is gone! Apparently the maid service told them that no one had not stayed there that night so they checked me out! and I said so why does my key work and they still told me that they only had my reservation for 3 nights and not 6 and if i had anything in writing stating something else bc someone is scheduled to have that room that night and so i told them yes and they sent security to prove it and brought me my items. Two days later the day before my check out non of my key cards worked and they told me its probably bc they got demagnetized and so i gave them benefit of the doubt and once in the room I grabbed the other key cards and those didn't work either! One night we ordered pizza from Luigis pizza offered by the hotel and it was HORRIBLE it was over cooked and it seemed like a good deal for $27 you get 2 med pizza, 6 wings, and a 6 pack of cola right? well with tax $33 but then they add all theses other charges like room charge, gratuity, delivery, total came out to $46! for pizza that was hard as a rock and couldn't be bitten into and cold wings and hot sodas! Staying at this hotel was more stressful than an actual vacation. Also, it takes over an hour to check in and check out because they have alot of employees but yet only 1 or 2 working the desk that obviously has about 8 computes. Then you have to get shuttled to your room and there's only one or 2 shuttles that fits about 5-6 people so it takes forever! Then, parking is $16 per day and at times they didn't even have parking so you had to park at the sister hotel next door and walk to the resort and yet still pay for parking. There's nothing near the hotel its 45 min from San Juan, 45 min from Fajardo and El Yuque. I will NEVER EVER stay here again or recommend anyone to stay here. It is very over rated!

Okay for Family Getaway

Room that we requested was not available upon arrival and the room we got smell moldy. The staff did not offer to move us even though we requested to be. We we did get move to the room I requested the next morning by 10 after I went to the front desk and express my disapproval. I felt the young lady that checked me did not make me feel welcomed. The gentleman that took care of us later is awesome. Love the amenities but I don't think I had a 4 star value.

PERFECT RESORT TO GETAWAY!!

This resort was AMAZING! It is very beautiful, clean, fun, and so much stuff to do just on the resort. We will definately be staying at this resort next year when we visit Puerto Rico again. I advise that if you book a room/suite at this resort, that you ATLEAST get the "Red Level" suites. It's basically like VIP at this resort. They treat you like royalty there. With the "Red Level" you get free breakfast buffet every morning your there, along with Happy Hour from 5-8pm everyday which includes FREE beer/wine and food for those 3 hours! The pools there were amazing... Lots of fun! Our last night at the resort we had Dinner on the beach there. Totally amazing! Its a MUST!!!! =)

The Tempo Italian Cuisine is a MUST! It can be a little pricey, but the service, food, drinks and everything was by far the BEST I have had anywhere else. And that's a true statement.

Melia Seclusion

There really wasn't much to do at the hotel. The beach is not at the right place on the island to offer water sports. The swimming pool was wonderful, but that only goes so far. There's no nightly entertainment and the meals are very expensive. The employees were very good, though. The upgrade to "Red Level" is an absolute must! The "Ocean View" room was about 100 yards from the beach and I could only see the ocean between tall palm trees (about 10% of the available overall view). If you want to have any of the fun that typically associated with Puerto Rico (snorkeling, scuba, fishing, all inclusive restaurants, touring, hiking, etc.), save your money and go to a cheaper place. Stay here if you want to sit next to the pool and drink water in an exotic place.

Great place to stay, somewhat expensive

The room was gorgeous, the pictures don't even describe how nice it is, it was expensive though. They do charge $16 a day for parking not included in room charges and I would like to have had a small refrigerator.

Beautiful and relaxing

I loved our stay at Gran Melia. It was a beautiful resort with lots to see and do. We had the best time whether we were relaxing by the pool, on the beach, or in our room. The resort is beautiful with the Koi ponds with private dining, the gazebo, marble everywhere, and beautiful views. The food was good, a bit overpriced but no real complaints. The only issue we had was with our toilet clogging up, but every time we called they came and took care of it right away. We liked being able to charge stuff to our room so we didn't need wallets and the 10% off with the rewards card was a good money saver. In all we loved it and had a great time. We even enjoyed counting the lizards walking around. The birds and cats were surprisingly not afraid of people, but they didn't really bother us.

Weekend Getaway

The pool was great but the beach was not so great. Anyway they close the pool bar too early and the Hotel room are too far from the pool. You have to wait for a ride to take u to the pool. My last day at this hotel they did not put any towels in my room. And this Hotel don't have a disco or night club so u party in the night. It was OK .
