Return to Puerto Rico

Had read reviews up to two weeks before our trip with negative guestr concerns. Only negative comment was lack of wash cloths for two days. Strange with low season guest count. Need a rental car. Beautiful resort. Red level room on ocean front was perfect. Some moisture smell in room, but, normal for tropics Beautiful golf courses. Check- in quick with complimentary drink and Butler answered all questions. Complimentary breakfast buffets were excellent with good sppervice. Only had one other meal of Pizza at night. Not American type with lots of tomato sauce, but, cheese was very tasty with good pepperoni. Afternoon Happy Hour with snacks was very good with excellent service. Checkout included a bill slipped under door and a central depository to place signed statement on way out. Recommend resort for after high season. Only time will tell if new General Manager can keep service high with larger guest count.

Great place Eat elsewhere

There was no negative aspects to the grounds. Perfectly maintained and beautiful beaches. Staff was friendly and quick to the aid of their guests. But, the bar food was not up to the prices they were charging. Also the breakfast as a buffet and it was more than $50 for the two of us to have an omelette and fruit. Everything on the menus was over priced by at least 50%. We ended up eating elsewhere.

My Home far away from Home

Great family hotel. Lots of activities...3 great swimming pools, play chess in the sun, add a hole mini golf, volleyball on the beach, or simply watch the sunset from the spectacular rooms and service full of details. Usually visit 3 times weekly in a year.

When reserving, make sure you ask for a refrigerator in your room. Usually it costs $25 per night but if you say during your reservation that you need it to store your meds they will get it for you for no charge.

Great Resort; average location

Everything was superb. The adjoining Trump International GC was beautiful and the pool bar hit the mark but the location was one just too far from the action.

Very Beautiful Resort with Friendly Staff

This was my first time in Puerto Rico and the staff at this resort made my stay a very pleasant experience. I was able to take long strolls on the beach during the morning hours, the grounds were were very clean and overall atmosphere was excellent. The hotel no longer offers all inclusive packages so meals at the reort were costly. We spent an average of $200 per day on breakfast, lunch and Dinner at the Resort for two people. It is easier to find more affordable food outside the resort, Burger King, McDonalds, Baskins Robbins, KFC and others are a short driving distance away. The location of the resort was 30 minutes away from Old San Juan, very close to Luquillo Beach and the El Yunque Rain Forest. Rental Agency is located onsite. Rent a car, it is cheaper than taking the tour. We were able to see El Yunque Rain forest and Old San Juan in one day. The tours are very costly, driving in Puerto Rico is very easy, except that no one uses their indicators. The taxi from the Airport to hotel costs us $64 plus tolls. I would suggest renting a car, then take Route 26 to Route 66 east to Route 3. You will be at the hotel in no time.

If you are looking for true Spanish food, try Martin's BBQ. The food is excellent. Although the name says BBQ, it is not a Barbeque spot.

vacation to celebrate my 40th b'day

I think that it was a very nice restort, my friends and I enjoyed our 40th b'days there. I would recommed it to people who would like a look at the north side of the island, you are 40minutes from the airport but they will pick you up for a fee. They have lots of one day trips for you to get a chance to see the other parts of the island.

Paradise in the sun.

I live in NYC and it was great to get away from the city in this paradise resort. They have excellent shuttles that take you directly from the airport to the resort, which is about a 45 minute drive. The trip was air conditioned and extremely relaxing; the bus was brand new and held approximately 40 people, but there were only four total passengers. Round trip is $60 per person which is more than worth it if you don?t feel like renting a car and figuring out where you?re going on the highway. There was a guy near the shuttle area at a small desk who took our information while we waited. The resort was fantastic. All of the restaurants were great and the staff was great. I read several reviews having poor comments about the staff, but we didn?t encounter any issues. Everyone was very friendly and the communication was solid. The spa is highly recommended, especially the hot tub with the fountains. Very relaxing! The spa is available for the whole day if you get a treatment, but if you don?t get a treatment, you can still use it for the day for a reasonable fee. I believe it was about $25. That also gives you access to the sauna, steam room, showers, hot tub, and private pool. One small note?after checking in we were met by an employee who helped us get reservations at the restaurants, along with providing us with some other information. Afterwards he asked if we?d be interested in taking 90 minutes for a presentation on a condo. There wasn?t any pressure and we said we were going to lunch and that we?d think it over. He offered us each a free massage at the spa if we decided to attend. We were there for only a few days and declined, but we think it might be worth it next time. Just an FYI. Overall the Paradisus was fantastic and we?ll definitely be going again.

Accessibility off of the resort didn?t look that readily available, but we were happy to stay there for a few days and relax. The resort is two or three miles off of the highway. We had everything we needed and didn?t have any reason to leave.
