Beautiful hotel, great overall
Stayed here for two nights in Feb. 2013. The hotel's common areas are beautiful and the grounds are as well. They do have a beach with amazing, clear-blue waters, but if you're looking for acres of white-sand beaches, forget it. It's still highly enjoyable and, to me, preferable. The only negative experience we had while here was the service at "bar" near the pool; it was under-staffed and the staff that was there could have seemed to care less that we were standing there for 15 minutes just trying to order a beer. Other than that, the service is about what you would expect from a 4* resort, friendly and helpful although not overly so. The on-site restaurants are decent, and it's only a 15-20 minute drive to the rain forest. It's very relaxing, beautifully landscaped and maintained. You're not going to find a Miami Beach-style beach here, but then again, that's not what everyone wants.

THE HONEYMOONERS THREE
GREAT RESORT
THE LOCATION OF THE HOTEL IS GREAT, I LIKED THE POOL, THE BEACH HAS A LOT OF STONES AND ALGAE, THE ARCHITECTURE, CLEANLINESS AND STAFF IS GREAT, I WOULD GO BACK.

Beautiful Resort
The resort was beautiful and it was close enough to the rain forest and San Juan for day trips. We found it impossible to rent a car at the resort but Enterprise had a office at a near by resort and were very accommodating. The rooms are large and comfortable. The pool is spectacular. The beach is a little too rocky for swimming but there is an abundance of treasures to find as you walk along so long as you remember to wear some water shoes! Be prepared to be on island time. It may take a hour to get your meal after you order but if you just take it in stride and enjoy your company and the view you will be fine. We have already booked a trip to the Dominican Republic at a resort owned by the same company.

If you want to tour Old San Juan or El Yunque rain forest rent a car and go on your own. We felt perfectly safe and could explore at our own pace.

The hotel experience was amazing. From arrival staff treated us like their job was the best thing in life. The only issue was the 100 dollars a night for incidentals, so make sure everyone is aware so they can be prepared to pay that. Its just a hold but it can affect youe money for a trip.

Get a huge sandwich on fresh baked local bread at Coco Sweet right off of 955 as you turn to head to the Resort. The Cubano sandwich is to die for.

a real honest guy
nice photo shop and way to expensive
This hotel is very remote from anything. to go to a resaurant one must take a 20us$ cab ride there and a 20us$ cab ride back. the food on site is not that great and is extemely expesive. ie a fried fish is 38us$ a day you have to spend around 100-150us$ per person to eat there, The bar tender doesnt know how to mix drinks well and after 12 the bar closes. the rooms are like .5 miles from the main lobby. the supposed garden view is two cocnut trees and a bunch of bushes. th beaches are full of sharp rocks, the supposed ive music was a broke DJ who close up at 1130.if you open the refrigerator in the room they charge you. there is no microwave. there was garbage in our hallway including balls of hair, dust balls, and pizza boxes. There is nothing to do but bake in the sun, swim in the pool, and spend lots of lots of money on thier over priced food. the people there are so unwilling to help you. especially in the restaurants...we left after our 2nd day went over to the marriot in condado and had a blast. I dont know how grand melia is anything more than a two star hotel.

Enjoy to travel
Rooms need some cleaning
Resort is beautiful. We enjoyed all restaurants, pool and beach. About the room, closet looked like they hadn't been clean for months. The small fridge in the room was stinking. We asked them to clean, but never got clean. (We stayed in the hotel for five full days.) When you travel with little kid, these small things are big. If you exclude the room, we had wonderful time at the resort.
