Quite good - but Islena Inn has keys
IMPORTANT: If caretaker not there, Islena Inn by the sea handles check in. (No clue to this at the hotel). Hard to find, lousy map. The room was large and clean, well equipped. Terrific value. Don't worry if it seems abandonned Islena Inn folks were helpful.

Sightseeing tip:
Short drive from hotel
Get keys at Islena Inn, on north shore. Also, snorkeling at Tres Palmas Reserve didn't work on first day -- waves made it dangerous. Second day was calm, and good.

secluded basic accomodation
My husband and I came for a quick relax trip from NYC for 3 days on the beach in Rincon. Las Palmas was great, no fuss. If you are looking to stay at a high end resort, do not stay here. The price of the room is based on it's location in a resort town, not on it's amenities. It was clean, quiet, well maintained. No continental breakfast, phone, or major satellite channels. Basic complimentary toiletry, clean towels and hot water. Tiny pool, well maintained, but doesn't look like anyone uses it. Beds were a little hard.
