I choose this hotel for my business trips since the parking is next to most clients I call on. Clean and comfortable for what i need. I preffer rooma in the new section of the hotel since they are more modern.
I had a comfortable stay here. The hotel is well-situated in the old town. There is an excellent and reasonably priced bakery cafe across the street. My room was nothing special, but clean and pleasant enough. Hotel breakfast is the usual minimal
continental, but with good coffee. Wi-fi works in the hotel lobby/restaurant only. Mayaguez is a university town and I heard a lot of street noise at night, but that must be the case with all centrally-located hotels. The "wow" factor was lacking for me but the Hojo is still a good place to stay.
The person that greeted us did a fast job at check in but for some reason you could feel her lack of interest in giving a hospitality service. Coming from a hotel background I expected more enthusiasm from the front desk staff. The room was quite
small and there was some mildew on the ceiling right above the air conditioner.on the bright side, for breakfast we got up late and arrived to the lobby right at the end of the breakfast, where the clerk was super nice and even served us breakfast even though he had already cleared the table for the day. Overall not so bad but for a little bit more money
