Historic landmark in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico

Both El Estoril Restaurant and Ricomini Bakery, icon locations in Mayaguez are at walking distance of the hotel. Must visit!!

UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!!
Perfect location, right next to cathdral and plaza. Beautiful rooms with 12' ceilings and stained-glass windows, mahogany doors, and thick spanish tile floors. We were in room 408 which had a panoramic view of the town and the mountains. The pool, though small, was charming and receives direct overhead sunlight for 3-4 hrs a day. Make sure to enjoy the restaurant and wine bar in the lobby and have [...]make you one of his homemade hamburgers. THERE IS NOWHERE BETTER TO STAY IN MAYAGUEZ.!

We spent most nights at the Friend's Cafe coffee shop at the west end of the main plaza sitting outdoors reading, playing backgammon, and meeting locals.

Don't Bother
I did not enjoy the stay here! The staff was very friendly but the accommodations were very rustic and there is a church across the street constantly ringing their bell, kids screaming in pool all day and no hot water!

great hotel
The hotel was beautiful it was located right in the middle of the town. Across the street was the best panadería. They served great puertorican food. Behind the hotel was the twons plaza filled with people and things to do. The room was tiny but clean and beautiful. The ac worked fast and kept the place cool. The lobby was filled with people at all hrs enjoying the movies and food available. I recommend this place. I will surly stay there on ky next trip to puerto rico.

The hotel is at a great location, however hot water is lacking, especially in the morning. Hotel staff treat it as a great mystery. I was there five days, every day was the same mystery. Pan handlers were a problem as well. Overall it was a good stay, except for the hot water issue.

There is an awesome eatery at the Plaza, located in a small hole in the wall, great food and service.

OK hotel, good location
I had a comfortable stay here. The hotel is well-situated in the old town. There is an excellent and reasonably priced bakery cafe across the street. My room was nothing special, but clean and pleasant enough. Hotel breakfast is the usual minimal continental, but with good coffee. Wi-fi works in the hotel lobby/restaurant only. Mayaguez is a university town and I heard a lot of street noise at night, but that must be the case with all centrally-located hotels. The "wow" factor was lacking for me but the Hojo is still a good place to stay.

I went there on vacation. everything was good. The building was built lately. It was cool. They gave free breakfast between 6 and 9.I recommend you!

Standard...
Strange hotel divided into odd an even rooms. What for? Accessing lobby and front desk is between restaurant. Rooms are clean, but nothing fancy. Coffee, TV are OK. The hotel is besides the cathedral: You can hear that at 6:00 am when the bells play a nice song...
