Great caribbean destuny

The location of the hotel is great! Rooms need a bit of tender loving care! The very best is the trip to Palomino Island. Enjoyed very much!

Deficient

The setting is beautiful, staff friendly and helpful, but... My room was a bit musky and the carpet was dirty. Towels were old and worn. The front desk confirmed 3 times that the exercise room opened at 6am...it opened at 7am. Food was dismal. In all fairness the staff was friendly and attentive. Landscapers do an incredible job.

complete disappointment

the room and the service is nothing more nothing less than $30/night motel room here in Florida, and they very rudely argue with you about $16/day parking fee where a customer has to park his car in a rough parking lot a good distance away from what is supposed to be a hotel where they send for the customer a miserable and beaten up golf cart that the customer breaths in all the smoke through the journey from the "parking" to the "hotel"

Elcon--May 2009

Gorgeous views from this aging, slow-paced resort. Expect waits, lines and some inconveniences, such as having to travel by funicular to reach the middle and lower parts of the resort (there are NO stairs!). No beach, but a lovely island is a boat ride away (allow several hours--its slow--like everything here). Resort is an hour drive from the airport.

El Conquistador

The staff are friendly and very helpful. The food was tasty and nicely presented. We were held captive by the location of the hotel. The rooms were damp and the bedding contained a musty and sour odor. Bothered allergies greatly!

everything but the girl

the trip from the main road to the hotel is a little spooky not to be traveled at night, the setting by the sea at the upper level of the hotel is relaxing and breath taking, the staff is helpful but in general you get transfered to a second or third person before your question is answered, the internet connection was not functional in the room but did work in the lobby as a business man checking messages is important, i tried printing my boarding passes but th eservice didn't work, the casino is diminutive compared to those in san juan or las vegas and many of the slots were turned off ie were not working, the shops are a life saver, very nice well stocked, the palomino island is awesome , the many bar staff are friendly , the food is good , the self parking is ridiculous far away and uphill the valet works like a charm, this is a romantic not to sophisticated cool great place for a couple or a large group of friends, if you are a photograper this is a paradise, i would definitely go back and frequently......cheers
