Beautiful locale...great family vacation

Upon arriving at the resort, we were taken back at how beautiful the view was overlooking the ocean. Check-in was easy, and I was upgraded to an ocean view room free of charge simply by asking if any upgrades were available. The room was nice, but could have been a bit cleaner. The pool area is very large, and we were always able to find chairs. We took the catamaran over to Palomino Island (this took about 20 minutes), and we snorkeled at the beach. It was very relaxing, and I would recommend this hotel. We rented a car from the Enterprise on site - no problems. We booked a tour for the biobay - no problems. My only complaints were that the room walls are very thin. Typically this doesn't bother me, but at this hotel you could hear every little thing. Also, the food wasn't that great overall. We did not try any of the specialty restaurants though, so I assume they would be better than the pool and marina restaurants.

El Conquistador, Fajardo

The resort is gorgeous and well appointed. The views, pools and beaches are beautiful, clean and inviting. The resort staff is friendly and accomodating. We ate dinner at Chops and La Piccola Fontana, the meals were delicious and the staff delightful and attentive. We enjoyed ourselves very much and would return again.

Family Trip

Hotel was about a good 45 minutes from the airport. I got a nice surprise when I found out that I had to pay around $17/day to park my rental car on the compound. Other than that no real complaints. The rooms were clean. Food choices on the resort are good. But the price of the of the food at the restaurants is not cheap. If you have a big family be prepared to spend. Around $15 for a burger and fries meal at one of the eateries. Overall its a nice resort with decent amenities.

Great for Couples

Beautiful location, accommodating staff, etc. The private island is awesome! One note ... we left the kids at home and we're glad we did. Elevator, tram and ferry would not have been as much fun with kids in tow. Loved it. The golf looked amazing.

Nice Resort for Adults

Rather unique location perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean, spectacular views! The island is great and has some stuff to do, but mainly laying around on a beautiful beach (which is fine by me). A tip on the island ... if you happen to be there on the weekend, instead of following the masses going to the right off the ferry, go to the stretch of beach on the left. Locals bring their boats/sound systems and it can be a really fun party. Glad we didn't bring kids. Very romantic break! Think kids would have made it feel like planes trains and automobiles getting out to the island everyday, and not an abundance of on site entertainment for them. You've heard of a Mojito, ask Juan at the outside bar to make you his special Juanito

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

The bio bay tour is an absolute must I will never forget the experience, and it's super close to the resort. Just the trip through the mangrove in complete darkness (lit only by glow sticks) would be worth the time and money. When you reach the bay and realize what is happening it is simply amazing! Splashing the glow water is crazy, and if you're lucky enough to see some fish. (we saw a few schools) they look like shooting stars. You get a little wet so wouldn't bring unprotected camera/cell phone. Bugs are not an issue if you wear a long sleeve top, but make sure it's breathable as it can get little hot while going through the mangrove. Tip : when you get to the bay try to stay a little bit away from the group. Try to paddle through spots where the others haven't been. You'll scare up more fish and maybe even see a ray! Hands down one of the coolest things I have ever seen.

First day of summer

Usually I would say this place is a amazing resort which I did learn over the 4 day stay. Overall for a private island and a good getaway I recommend it. Out of the 5 times I've been to Peurto Rico this was a adventure.
