Ocean locale in the village of Dorado, Puerto Rico
Golden Sands Villas, in the sleepy seaside town of Dorado, less than a 30-minute drive from San Juan, offers an oceanfront setting with palm trees, beaches, tennis courts, and an 18-hole signature golf course. Families, golfers, and honeymooners alike enjoy numerous amenities, including a pool, restaurants, and recreational facilities shared with the adjoining Embassy Suites Hotel, located on the same grounds of the Golden Sands Golf and Beach Resort.

It also offers three High Definition Cable TVs, one for each room and one for living space

NOT GOING BACK
Sincerely to start with there is no indication on the outside that Golden Sands Villas is there. Name is actually Aquarious. When we arrived room was soo cold, rugs dirty and the coffee maker had mold. Turned off the A/C and it was still freezing in the room. Really don't know what happend there. On the plus side, staff was nice, pool and beach a total plus.

They have air-conditioning problems
Overall our stay in the hotel was good. It has a nice pool with bar and the beach there is decent. The room was clean and driving to San Juan took about 20 min. So if you have a rental car you would save a lot by staying in this hotel which is cheaper than hotels in San Juan. The only problem we faced was that EVEN THOUGH we turned OFF the air-condition in the room, it was still freezing. Somehow the air-conditioning in the whole hotel affects the temperature in the rooms. We ordered blankets and we got them instantly, which helped us sleep at night and we were mostly out and about during the days. So it wasn't a biggy for us but it is something to be aware of. Also beware that they charge $10 parking per night and $10 for internet access per day. But they have free wifi in the lobby. There is a casino next door, it's not MGM but it's decent. No texas holdem poker tables but they have one roulette table, couple of black jack tables, one 3-card poker table and the rest are slot machines of course.

New Year's Eve 2012
Great experience! Little updates might become handy, though. HD Cable TV but no HD TVs and no WiFi. Staff is very friendly and welcoming.

The hotel was in a great location and had great pools and access to beach. The room had small full size beds and not queens so it was a bit uncomfortable even for the thinnest of couples of which, we were not one. Some things were broken (sliding door lock, cracked outlets) but it was decent for the price. NO INTERNET! that was killer! they only had wireless in the lobby. Not convienient at all and the lobby was always FREEZING!

will not book same hotel.
old and dirty carpet. old and rusty windows. balcony lock was broken and had a makeshift lock. the house keeper forgot the door open fortunately not intrusion. the parking was a rip off.they were charging about ten dollars per day even though there was plenty of parking spots during the week. Embassy suits hotel were using our hotel amenities making hard hard to use it for us.

Really rundown
Bed was not comfortable, the mattress were a mess. Towells were all stained, looked dirty, the room felt dirty. Also, room utilities (fridge, microwave,etc) were in bad conditions. It really needs new equipment, towels, bed clothing,etc.

Do not waste your time and money
froze in the room with no thermostat control. no extra blanket.desk phone did not work mirrored closet doors fall off their tracks refridgerator door is rusted. walls sweat with condensation, washer drier missing,I would not allow my dog to sleep on the couch or the carpet,but my brother had to. the stucco on the terrace is falling off.If you want a good nights sleep bring your own bed,need I go on, can you tell i"m upset yet? Oh by the way...DO NOT ENTER THE BEACH.
