Great experience
Beautiful hotel, breathtaking pool, friendly and helpful staff. I will definetly stay again at this hotel. This is a good place to travel with children, the suites have all the amenities you will need. The only downfall is that the food at their restaurants is very pricey.

Sands Villas under a New Name
The hotel seems to be under new management. It is now known as Aquarious, next to the Embassy Suites. It's the sign of the times, the economy is still in recession, owners look for less expensive franchise deals to market their properties. My room showed signs of wear and tear but it was cleaned. Anyway, the pool and beach facilities were great, very clean and well maintained. Recommend going there during the slow Spring season.

Recommended, but there are hidden fees.
This was an awesome place to stay. It is close to the beach and you really didn't need to go to San Juan or Isla Verde to enjoy the beach. My only complaint is that you had to go to the Embassy Suites to get something to eat and they charged $16 dollars. Finally, you have to pay for parking which isn't included when purchasing this trip. Other than those to, it is a hotel to stay if you want to save your money.

Family getaway
The overall experience was good. The hotel pool and amenities were great. The rooms however need a lot of improvements. In our room the sofa bed was old and the matress was all wiggly, the pilows and towels were old. The room's kitchen lacked the necessary utensils, the a/c screen was all rusty and the fan on the living area was not working. Neither was the washing machine. They also need to update the decor. Another dissapointment was the fact that while on the pool, you could not charge any meals or drinks to the room, they only took cash or cc which was an inconvenience.

Perfect Vacation
My girlfriend and I decided to take a trip to P.R. because it was recommended by a friend that was from there. He kept telling us how beautiful it was and how much we would love it and he was dead on. This island is an amazing experience from old San Juan to the zip-lining. Best trip ever I would highly recommend anyone to visit here. The hotel which was located in Dorado, nestled between a golf course and the ocean. It was about 15-20 minutes away from San Juan itself which didn't matter to us because we had rented a hybrid so we only ended up using 1 tank of gas the entire time. The view from the hotel room was absolutely breath-taking; it overlooks the large drop-off pool onto the lagoon and the ocean beyond that. Great for watching the sunset from your balcony. The hotel staff we're very friendly and courteous. The rooms themselves could have been a little better, maybe an update to the metal work which looked to be a bit rusted. In conclusion I would seriously recommend this hotel and vacation to anyone considering. I hope to visit again someday and I would definitely stay in this hotel and hopefully the same room!!

Time-saving tip:
Short drive from hotel
Very Important Advice: Take PR-165 to and from San Juan if you are staying in Dorado. It is a more relaxed ride and the scenery along the ocean is gorgeous. Avoid taking the Expreso Jose De Diego at all costs because it has very confusing exit signs, the traffic was jammed and there is 5 lanes which means that all the locals switch lanes constantly and do not use turn signals.

Good Place to stay
I believe this hotel deserves credit for what they offer. The amenities are mostly from the Embassy suites. Nice and friendly hotel personnel. Need to add internet to all rooms. I recommend the private beach to be cleaned. The plants at the bottom discourage people to go in. Also, the pedal boats should be included on the price of the hotel. Whirlpool should be hotter and separate from the pool (there's a hole that brings cold water from the pool)

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
The members lounge offers good food rather than going out looking for a place to eat - although if you are looking for something to eat on a fancy place - go to old San Juan

Hot tub was always full of unaccompanied children day and nite. The beach was rocky and not well kept.
