Grand Bahia Ocean View Hotel is nested amidst a glorious 2,800 acre fish and wildlife reserved surrounded by spectacular natural views in every direction. Relax, indulge in all this unique hotel has to offer. From its dazzling location where, the Atlantic meets the Caribbean to form a Blue Heaven, or our mineral baths and classic therapy treatments similar to the Dead Sea. Our decor is a witty and sophisticated collision of influences from the modern to the old Spanish Mediterranean style, combined with the energy, vitality and the magnificence of our 2,800 acre fish and wild life reserve.

Our Signature restaurant Agua Al Cuello has won the award of best Meson Gastronomico. The restaurant has elegant indoor ambiance, as well as oceanside romantic dining. Our chef has created unique menus that utilize the freshest local fruits, seasonable vegetables, as well as abundant fresh seafood. Dining at Agua Al Cuello promises to be a memorable experience at Grand Bahia.

Our Sunset Bar has a spectacular view to the Bay. From here the chirping of the birds give welcome to the sunrise, and in the evenings you can bask in sunsets of ever changing colors. In this ostentatious atmosphere you can enjoy our best 'Pina Colada' & 'Classic Mojito' and other specialty drinks of the house such as Coco Negro and Bahia Sunset.

Our Spa is in a beautiful secluded area, between the Caribbean Sea and the ancient Salt Flats of Cabo Rojo. Be ready to experience an ambiance of unspoiled tropical beauty and tranquility as well as new and modern facilities that can dazzle the senses. In this breathtaking tropical setting, several health enhancing alternatives are offered; spa facial, body treatments, an extensive array of massages, mineral salt Jacuzzis, and hydro massages among others. The beneficial aspects is derived from a unusual fact: the salt flats adjacent to Grand Bahia Ocean View Hotel the same mineral makeup as the Dead Sea (rich in magnesium, bromides, iodine, sulfur, and potassium). which are the elements that make the treatments so unique and therapeutic.

Good place.

The facilities are good. Five minutes in car to Playuela Beach. We went to the restaurant, but the service was very slow, so we prefer to eat out for our dinners. Quiet and a little bit boring during the days of a week. Maybe in weekends could be more alive.

I recomend Annies Place Restaurant for dinner and some drinks. It is in front of the Combate Beach.

Very Disappointing

We arrived at Bahia Salinas with high expectations—our two days here were to be the luxury part of our vacation. Sadly, right from the get-go we were disappointed. Our room seemed to be what may have been a converted supply space. All of the walls were made of wood paneling, and aside from one small window in the front, the unit was dark. The second bedroom was stacked behind the first, with only a tiny window that had its shutters tightly closed and hidden behind a heavy shade. When we looked closer, we saw it overlooked a supply hallway. The bathroom in our unit had tan ceramics that looked to be borrowed from the 1970s, with plumbing fixtures to match. And worse, the front room had a stench of cat urine. When I requested a room change from the woman at the desk, she was aloof and unhelpful. We were there on New Year's eve and New Year's eve day, so the spa area was closed. No apology was made for this. The resort restaurant hosted a huge party for locals that evening on the resort grounds, playing loud music clear into the night. No apologies or notices were made to guests to let us know about the party and others using the accommodations. The beach looks lovely in the pictures, but in reality, the ground is mud, not sand. A few steps into the ocean, I realized I was sinking up to my knees in the muck. Another guest had watched me and later admitted he'd waited for me to figure out the area was unswimmable. Despite warnings from other guests about the slow service, we went to the restaurant for dinner our second night. With only 4 tables filled with guests, our dinner took fully two hours to be served once we ordered. Again, no apologies or amenities were provided for the wait or poor service. Positives: the resort is in a lovely location for bird-watching, and there's a great beach for swimming just down the road at the lighthouse. The breakfast is buffet-style (not included) and quite good. And the dinner, once you finally get served, is very tasty. My husband, son and I were relieved when this part of our trip was concluded. We truly felt we endured, rather than enjoyed, our stay at Bahia Salinas.

Look for the local oriole, called a Troupial, hummingbirds and shore birds around the property and just down the beach. Also, there's a great bakery less than 5 miles away with amazing bread and cakes.

Great low key beach resort.

We really enjoyed the solitude that Bahia Salinas provides. The infinity pool is beautiful and definately the highlight of the grounds. The staff was very polite and professional. We realized early on that out room didn't have hot water. After the staff confirmed they upgraded us to a nicer room at no charge without hesitation. The restaurant served very good food and the staff there was also very nice. My only disappointment was that Christmas decorations were only slightly present and the restaurant didn't have anything special for the holiday. The resort seemed to have a very small number of guest this day though, so it may not have been worth it on their part.

There isn't a set mixed drink menu and there may be substitutions for ingredients. We usually ordered a house drink, got some version of it and were very satisfied.

On my honeymoon and not 80 years old
I'm actually stuck here now

Do not go here if you are under age 75

This place sucks! 1 - There is no food served from 8pm to 7am. There was only 1 restaurant open from 5-8pm. The 2 bars that they are supposed to have have never been open. 2 - This isn't a beach resort when there isn't a beach here. There is about 5ft of mushy broken shell and then the water is murky with no waves. 3 - It says "spa" in the title, but the spa and beauty salon have never been open in the 2 days that I've been here. 4 - There is high speed internet from the "lobby" to the bar. The lobby is an 8x8 room with a counter and a "concierge" that acts all ticked off when you ask any type of question. 5 - Is it really a resort when the pool closes at 7pm? 6 - You can't park within the gates. You have to wear a plastic bracelet to identify you as a guest of the place. You pay way too much to look like you've been clubbing somewhere with the scratchy bracelet. 7 - The website states that they have water activities. They are not on site, not included in your stay, and are about 30-45mins away. 8 - There is no cancellation policy. Once you're here, you're stuck. Obviously they have this problem regularly once guests under age 80 realize that they will either starve or die of boredom. Save your sanity and money - DO NOT GO TO BAHIA SALINAS.

Not so bad, but there were surprises.

Every time I make a reservation thru orbits or other discount co. I always get surprises at the end of my vacation, such as extra charges for meals, parking, drinks, etc...

Paradise on the SW Coastline

Amazing tranquility! Don't attempt to apply the term "resort" in the sense of Disney or Hilton. You won't find a sprawling property with water slides for the kids and staff zipping around on golf cart here - thank God! Bahia Salinas is about eighty feet beyond the terminus of Carraterra 301. The gravel road continues for another mile and a half ending inside the Cabo Rojo preserve where you will find the most amazing beach and Puerto Rico's best lighthouse. We stayed for two nights arriving after 8:00P after a long drive from Dorado to the Aricibo Observatory then overland through the mountains to Rincon (via Moca) then on to Bahia Salinas. The manager Vanessa was very helpful with directions and suggested that we dine before our arrival because their restaurant was closing at 8:00P. The pool was available for guests to use until 10:00P. I was awakened at about 5:20A by the most incredible sounds of birds of all sorts. Thousands of birds were zipping back and fourth having their morning meal. This went on for about eighty minutes before the flocks moved on leaving just a few cranes feeding in the shallow water. I went for a thirty minute walk (each way) into the Cabo Rojo preserve. WOW! Incredible. Just me walking down a narrow gravel road that is riddled with small potholes and flanked with shrubs, barbwire fences and twisted telephone poles. It was so peaceful. I walked up to the bluffs where the lighthouse is and then returned to the hotel for breakfast. Nice buffet on on outdoor veranda with a million dollar view. Terrific fruit salad and coffee, but so so eggs. After breakfast we left for the lighthouse via car. We had finished out tour of the light house and were headed north explore the cost before 10:45A. Lunched in Joyuda (Tony's) and returned to spend the late afternoon and sunset in Combate and ate dinner in a swell little spot next to the marina that was packed with locals. Awesome meal - CHEAP! This is the Puerto Rico that Puerto Ricans escape to! Don't be a snob and miss it. What a gem of on area. We cannot wait to return. We will stay at Bahia Salinas again "FOR SURE!"
