Do not go here if you are under age 75
This place sucks! 1 - There is no food served from 8pm to 7am. There was only 1 restaurant open from 5-8pm. The 2 bars that they are supposed to have have never been open. 2 - This isn't a beach resort when there isn't a beach here. There is about 5ft of mushy broken shell and then the water is murky with no waves. 3 - It says "spa" in the title, but the spa and beauty salon have never been open in the 2 days that I've been here. 4 - There is high speed internet from the "lobby" to the bar. The lobby is an 8x8 room with a counter and a "concierge" that acts all ticked off when you ask any type of question. 5 - Is it really a resort when the pool closes at 7pm? 6 - You can't park within the gates. You have to wear a plastic bracelet to identify you as a guest of the place. You pay way too much to look like you've been clubbing somewhere with the scratchy bracelet. 7 - The website states that they have water activities. They are not on site, not included in your stay, and are about 30-45mins away. 8 - There is no cancellation policy. Once you're here, you're stuck. Obviously they have this problem regularly once guests under age 80 realize that they will either starve or die of boredom. Save your sanity and money - DO NOT GO TO BAHIA SALINAS.

Paradise on the SW Coastline
Amazing tranquility! Don't attempt to apply the term "resort" in the sense of Disney or Hilton. You won't find a sprawling property with water slides for the kids and staff zipping around on golf cart here - thank God! Bahia Salinas is about eighty feet beyond the terminus of Carraterra 301. The gravel road continues for another mile and a half ending inside the Cabo Rojo preserve where you will find the most amazing beach and Puerto Rico's best lighthouse. We stayed for two nights arriving after 8:00P after a long drive from Dorado to the Aricibo Observatory then overland through the mountains to Rincon (via Moca) then on to Bahia Salinas. The manager Vanessa was very helpful with directions and suggested that we dine before our arrival because their restaurant was closing at 8:00P. The pool was available for guests to use until 10:00P. I was awakened at about 5:20A by the most incredible sounds of birds of all sorts. Thousands of birds were zipping back and fourth having their morning meal. This went on for about eighty minutes before the flocks moved on leaving just a few cranes feeding in the shallow water. I went for a thirty minute walk (each way) into the Cabo Rojo preserve. WOW! Incredible. Just me walking down a narrow gravel road that is riddled with small potholes and flanked with shrubs, barbwire fences and twisted telephone poles. It was so peaceful. I walked up to the bluffs where the lighthouse is and then returned to the hotel for breakfast. Nice buffet on on outdoor veranda with a million dollar view. Terrific fruit salad and coffee, but so so eggs. After breakfast we left for the lighthouse via car. We had finished out tour of the light house and were headed north explore the cost before 10:45A. Lunched in Joyuda (Tony's) and returned to spend the late afternoon and sunset in Combate and ate dinner in a swell little spot next to the marina that was packed with locals. Awesome meal - CHEAP! This is the Puerto Rico that Puerto Ricans escape to! Don't be a snob and miss it. What a gem of on area. We cannot wait to return. We will stay at Bahia Salinas again "FOR SURE!"

A nice place to go to
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who desires a nice and quiet place near great beaches in the Cabo Rojo area. The room was clean with a great view of the pool and ocean. However, because it's a resort, I will have to say that the service in the restaurant was bad, not enough waiting staff to attend customer needs. But it is also fair to point out that the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Overall, I would go back to this resort and recommend it to my friends and family.

Quiet Secluded Resort
We enjoyed our stay at this quiet secluded resort. We arrived in PR a few days before the Novemeber Elections which are crazy unlike any election you will see in the states. We were glad to be staying away from all the political caravans and noise. The Scenery and Pool are beautiful. Waking up and walking out the front door and seeing the ocean and pool right in front of you, worth every dime! The only negatives we had about this property are they need some better management running the resort and then it would be a world class resort. The service in the resturant very slow. Our friends wanted to get a massage and asked when the spa open, they were told 12 noon which is kinda late for something to be opening. Well we tried all day to go to the spa and book appts but everytime we went it was closed, don't think they ever opened that day. We wanted to rent a kayak, but were told they would could not that it was a seperate run operation and not open during this time of the year. Our room was nice, very large and old world feel. The only comment about the room is that it would be nice if they provided hand towels. We defintely would reccomend this place and would return.

Lovely, but isolated
Wonderful place to stay and relax. But nothing within an hours drive to do. Great views, great food and wonderful staff. If you want to relax and just chill, this is the place to go. Also no hot water for the shower!
