Had no problem with booking. Arrived at the hotel within 25 mins of Faro airport with yellow fish transfer that we booked before we left. Check in was fast and the staff were fine...not overly nice. Room was a suite deluxe that had 2 floors.
Downstairs was living room, bathroom with shower, tv, table, chairs and balcony overlooking ocean and city and marina in distance. 2 chairs on balcony and table. Upstairs was king bed, bathroom, shower, tv. 2 hair dryers, coffee maker with no coffee. Bring your own tea bags, instant coffee and cups to make it in as they don't supply them. 2 small bottles of water are supplied 'nearly' every day. Water can be bought at small supermarket outside hotel--to the right of hotel --for 21 cents a bottle. It's 4 euro in hotel. They supply robes, slippers. Towels are not soft and a little rough after shower. Safe in room. Loads of closet space upstairs and down. Mini bar is empty and can be stocked for a fee. We used it for ice and water. You must bring your ice bucket down to the bar to get ice. Crazy. So, bring large plastic bags and get it before going to room. Stayed very well in fridge. Weekends--unless you get out there by 7 am you are not getting a seat by the pool. Very few chairs for the amount of people there. If you want your umbrella opened you have to walk to the shallow end to get someone as that's where they sit and they don't look around for anyone needing help---you get them and tip them 1 euro. The pool is big and lovely, but not heated. Light music plays in the background. There is a bar at the pool with drinks and you can order food. The wait is endless, as there is only 1 staff person. Lunch is fine and about 10 euro for 1....again, you have to wait and it's easier to walk to the bar inside to pay than wait for them to come back with bill. Obviously short staffed. Definitely unorganized at bar. Prices not bad for drinks, but not real bartenders. They tend to be on the rude side as well. I asked a woman, who was not smiling or said hello for a plastic cup one day and she told me that they were only for paying customers! I said you are kidding I've paid through the nose for drinks and water by the pool. She said okay, you can have a plastic cup this time. But only this time. That left a bad taste about the hotel. Breakfast is fine with loads of offerings. I found the omelet the best to get, but there are lots of different eggs and anything you can think of to eat. We ate out every night as there are loads of places that are excellent within walking distance. On the whole, this is good hotel in a great position for the sea view and relaxation. It is not a 5 star by a long shot and that is due to the staff and lack of engaging with customers except when approached. Training of real bartenders would go a long way. Housekeeping did a great job every day. Bed was hard, but that suited us perfectly. They will supply toppers if you ask. Oh, there was entertainment at night and was usually a singer that was good. Very few stayed for the whole thing and i believe it's due to the service and prices at the bar...which could easily be fixed. There is a small shop with newspapers and essentials if you run out, but it is not open all the time. So, all in all we had a great stay and would go back again due to the view and proximity to activities as well as the cleanliness.
