Great hotel for the price

We really enjoyed Lisbon and the hotel. We stayed for 6 nights and took side trips from this central location. This hotel is north of the city center, but you can walk to the center in 15-20 minutes or take any of several buses or the metro (all within a couple of blocks)to get to the center. You could also cab, which would only be about 4-5 euros. The hotel desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The room we had was beautiful and spotless! We had a nice view of the buildings across the street and on one evening, the sunset. The bed was very comfortable (request a couples bed if you don't want twins),and the BR was very spacious. One suggestion would be to bring your own hairdryer. They have one in the BR, but it is not powerful. Be sure to bring an adaptor. Many reviewers complained about the breakfast. There was beautiful breads and croissants daily. There was scrambled eggs, cheese and thin waffles as well. I would not eat the meats, but for some they may be OK. My husband thought the coffee was quite good. The juice is out of a machine and weak. There is also cereal and yogurt. All in all more than adequate to start your busy day of sightseeing. Besides, by 11 you will be stopping for a bica and a pastel de nata! If you want to be in the thick of the tourist action, this is not the holtel for you, but if you want a lovely hotel at a great price, this is it. A great restaurant Torio is around the corner. Excellent Portugese food and wine!

Buy the daily viagem card for 3.95 euros for unlimited use of buses, trams and the metro. You need to go back to the hotel to refuel before going out again for dinner, etc.

Nice, clean hotel

This was a great hotel. The staff spoke english well and were very helpful during our stay. Clean, nice sized rooms and modern bathrooms... Breakfast was included and had a decent 'American' buffet (eggs, bacon, etc.). The hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the subway station. Its only 4-5 stops to get downtown Lisbon - and you can take cabs, trolleys/trams, buses or just walk once there. We bought the Lisboa Card (at Info Centers) as it included free public transportation and free or discounted admissions to museums and attractions. It was well worth it for our trip. We loved Lisbon and felt very safe - even at night. I would recommend this hotel and I would definitely return to Lisbon!

Buy the Lisboa Card if you want to get the most out of Lisbon. You can use it for free public transportation and get discounts (or free) admission on tickets and entry fees for attractions. This is only a good deal if you plan on seeing a lot of the sights in Lisbon and feel comfortable with the subway, bus, tram transportation systems.

Good location, nice room

Staff very friendly and helpful, metro and great coffee nearby. We were able to buy a one day pass and get around easily from this hotel with a metro stop two blocks away. City centre is two or three stops away. I highly recommend it.

The staff were unfailingly helpful

The staff were unfailingly helpful and knowledgeable. The room was huge and pleasantly furnished but smelled musty so had to keep the window open. The restaurant served nice food and again the service was excellent. The location was rather out of the main city but that meant it was quiet . There were plenty of restaurants around and the occasional shop, particularly the lovely dress shop on the next corner. In all, I had a very pleasant stay there.

This hotel is away from the city

This hotel is away from the city center but is close to a Metro station. For us with a 3-year-old and a baby, the location was not convenient as mentioned in other reviews. Room service is poor, stay away unless absolutely necessary. For the rest, the hotel was good; clean and spacious.
