Great staff, lovely hotel

Having never been to Lisbon before, we didn't quite know what to expect. The hotel didn't disappoint. Just off the main road, on a quietish side street, the decor was beautifully done and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

The number one aerobus from the airport stops at Avenue Liberdade, about 2 minutes' walk from the hotel. At Eu3.50 it's far easier (and better value..) than getting a cab.

Hotel Britannia, Lisbon

The Britannia was excellent in evey way EXCEPT that we were led to belive breakfast was included and were then very unpleasantly surprised to be charged 84 euros, or $122.64, for a total of 6 breakfasts. That works out to $22.44 per breakfast, which while adequate, certainly was not lavish. There was no mention of a charge nor was thre any charge listed anywere. Very disappointed in this situation.

Fantastic Stay!

The Hotel was wonderful. The location was great, close to everything but not on the busy street so it made it very quite. The service overall was 5 star. They made you feel like you were the only ones at the hotel and most of the time during our stay they were fully booked. I do not have one negative thing to say about Hotel Britania.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

It was a short walk to the underground metro and it was the cheapest way (besides walking wich is do-able but long) to get to the train station to go to Sintra or Cascais.

Superb hotel

Beautifully decorated art deco motif, cork floor tiles and comfortable bed in a quiet but close-in location off avenida liberdade. Reception was helpful in recommending restaurants (Valentino's Italian restaurant was a great find and not far away). We'd definately stay here again on future visits. Hotel was impeccably clean, both rooms and public areas. Room had two arm chairs plus desk chair and table in our standard room so one didn't need to sit on bed.

Eating lane a short walk from hotel, and Confeitaria Nacional, just on Plaza Figueira, is a great place for coffee and pasteries.
