Peaceful hotel conveniently located in Lisbon’s city center
The Amazonia Lisboa, located near Marques de Pombal Square, is a 192-room, nine-story hotel. Contemporary design incorporates a Brazilian-themed lobby featuring artifacts, plants, straw rugs and rattan chairs. The hotel is built in a quiet residential area near metro and bus lines, shopping and the Edward VII Park. A 24-hour reception desk, breakfast room, bar, business center, outdoor swimming pool and airport shuttle service also are featured. Was sure that breakfast was included in price when booked on the internet. Was surprised to be told that this was not so, and had to pay 8 euros each for a not too exciting breakfast. i.e. cold scrambled eggs and midget sausages, if you were lucky.

This hotel is very near Marques
This hotel is very near Marques de Pombal metro station in a side street in a residential district, about 20 minutes walk or a few minutes on the metro to the city centre. It's a standard modern hotel, clean and comfortable.

Very small room but with a balony.
Very small room but with a balony. 5 min to metro that will take you to the center (just 2 stops) in no time. Breakfast ok, but takes ages to refill the dishes(buffet).

Expensive internet
The internet access is expensive, but it might be the case for other hotels as well. The room is nice, however the bathroom was not that clean (slightly clogged bathtub).

Nicht zufrieden
Vom Stadtzentrum sind es nicht 0,5km, sondern stolze 4km (gemäss Taxifahrer) bis zum Hotel :-((, Wenn man den Zimmernachbar schnarchen hört, so ist dies nicht toll :-((. In der Beschreibung steht, dass WiFi/wlan vorhanden ist, doch mit 9€ für 48 Stunden ist dies bei einem westlichen Standard nicht ok. I was not amused. Das Frühstück mit 8€ zusätzlich ist mehr als mager

Positivt överraskade
För att vara ett 3-stjärnigt hotell blev vi väldigt positivt överraskade. Rummen var ganska stora och fräscha och bor man några trappor upp som vi gjorde har man härlig utsikt över hela staden. Bra läge där man antingen kunde promenera ner till tex Bairro Alto på 20min eller så tog man t-banan (som ligger 5-10min promenad från hotellet) som gick direkt. Skönt att inte bo i smeten men ändå så nära och ett bra lugnt område.

Lördagskvällar i Bairro Alto kryllar det av barer och folk ute på gatorna. Man köper en drink på ett ställe och går vidare till nästa, som en stor festival och helt klart värt att gå dit även om man inte ska dricka för att bara insupa atmosfären.
