Stay in a converted palace at the Holiday Inn Krakow City Centre hotel in the heart of cultural Old Krakow. Contemporary glass annexes blend in with a 19th-century nobleman's residence, the Parenskich Palace , at Holiday Inn Krakow City Centre. You'll get a taste of Renaissance Krakow when you set eyes on replicas of Wawel Castle 's sculptured, wooden heads hanging in our welcoming Lobby. Find us in the hub of Old Krakow, 200 metres from the bustling Market Square and 800 metres from the Kazimierz Jewish Quarter . It's a short walk to historic Krakow attractions like 16th-century Wawel Castle , 1km away, with its throne room filled with 460 carved heads. The medieval Old Town is only 200 metres from the hotel. Descend the salt mines at Wieliczka , 15km away, for ornate rock salt carvings and sculpture and visit Auschwitz concentration camp, 40km away. You can jet in to Krakow-Balice International Airport , 24km away, and use our car park when you arrive via the nearby A4 highway. Our inviting Guest rooms are connected with complimentary high-speed Internet . Glatt Kosher cuisine is cooked in-house under the supervision of Rabbi E. Gur Arie. Jumbo prawns and pierogi dumplings are on the a la carte Mediterranean and Polish menu in Bom Fogo restaurant. Work up an appetite on the treadmill in our light, air-conditioned MiniGym at Holiday Inn Krakow City Centre .

Lackluster

The location of this hotel was perfect, but the rest of the hotel experience was lackluster. We felt rushed at check-in and check-out, i.e. the receptionist just wanted to get rid of us, the small, dark, bathroom in our "executive" room had zero counterspace and thus the toilet was way too close to the sink area--with the toilet brush suspended right between--gross. The A/C did not cool our room--so we basically had the fan of the unit blowing the whole time. The internet was intermittent, and staff were unapologetic when it did not work--only confirming, "Yup, it must be down" when we'd inquired. Our overall impression of the people in Krakow was pleasant, as they do cater to toursists, yet this hotel -- supposedly the "creme de la creme" in Krakow--is kind of a joke. Parking was 70 Zloty (about 20 Euro) per night which I thought was high for Poland, and breakfast wasn't included in the rate either. Guests can do much better out on the town locally for a delicious breakfast for circa 20 Zloty vice 60 which this hotel charged--preposterous!

Can't complain...much

The location of the hotel was great. It was close to the Cloth Hall, Wawel castle and even a taxi rank. However, it was not very close to the train station (at least a 15-20 min walk, not great with luggage). The service was exceptional and friendly. We had no complaints. The room, especially for Europe was very spacious and clean and comfortable. The only beef I had was the lack of wifi in the rooms. You could only connect via cable and my very thin Mac Air does not allow cable connection. I know that's not true of all computers but a wifi connection would just be more convenient, especially since the lobby and bar area did have wifi. However, I would highly recommend this hotel. They even arrange car and driver to take you on various sightseeing trips. The prices were not bad either.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

There are lots of excellent dining places in the city but the one we really enjoyed was dinner at Ariel in the jewish quarter near the Remu synagogue. It's an old rabbi's house now a kosher restaurant and the food was really quite good. For movie buffs, the hotel attached to this restaurant (also Ariel) was where Steven Spielberg stayed while filming Schindler's List.

Perfect location

This hotel is perfectly located between the old town and Kazimierz neighborhoods. It's an easy walk to any of the main attractions. The room was very large, especially by European standards, clean, and well appointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was one of the more expensive hotels when I searched, but a great value for the location and quality of the room.
