WILL STAY HERE AGAIN

I really enjoyed my stay. It's probly more like a 3 star, the hallways are alittle steamy but the rooms and nice, cool and quiet. I can't speak well enough about the staff, they are very polite and helpful. Ask for something and its done. The hotel has a mall, several shops and restaurants all around. If your new to the city it is a great way to so. When I could not explain to the cab driver where to take me I just said take me to the United Nations building. because the hotel is right next to it. The pool was beautiful and because it was on the 9th floor it got a nice breeze from the ocean. reading other reviews I see people say that there are people on the street and it was so crowded but after staying in Manila for 2 weeks I could not find a spot in the city that was not. There are security guards in the lobby and by all the entrances as well as police and security all over because the U.N. is right there. The Oyster Bar was kinda dead but not many tourist travel to the Philippines in the middle of rainy season but they still had a lot of food waiting for the few of us that that showed up. I will be returning to Manila in a year or so with my bother and uncle so they better have 3 rooms ready :) I would definitely recommend it, its a real bargain with everything close by.

nice place to stay, right in the middle of shops and restaurants

The hotel staff are very nice and helpful, they have security guards like most places in Manila ready to get you a cab, give you general directions like anywhere else be polite and they remember your face. The pool was beautiful, the hallways were kinda steamy but the rooms were nice, cool and quiet. Its next to the UN so when I was not sure how to tell the cab driver where to go I just tell them to take me to the UN and its right next to the hotel. The malls, and several small shops and restaurants all around the area. On my trip there were very few people on my floor, not much tourist during the middle of the rainy season. I would totally recommend this hotel. Its probly more like a 3 star but for convenience of all the places close by and the very helpful staff its a great way to go. I will be going back to visit with my brother and uncle in a year or so and I plan to go back. reading other comments I see people saying there are lots of people all over the street and its crowded but with the UN so close by police and security are all over as well. Manila is one of the biggest cities on the planet so I want to know what part of Manila they stayed in that was no crowded.

Business trip

My visit to Manila was for business and I had very little time to enjoy the hotel facilities. The staff was helpful and considerate. The visit to the Pearl hotel was good for the rate and I would definitely like to enjoy the facilities more on my next visit.

Decent place, but avoid the rooms by the train!

Definitely a decent place for the money, with good staff and cleanliness, although our room was very close to the train, which made it impossible to get a good night rest and there were no other rooms available.
