unbeatable location for the price
breakfast buffet is always excellent. my wife and i always feel safe because security is all over the place and very friendly. we have problem getting a taxicabs, they always assist us. house keeping personnel is always accomodating when we need extra towels and coffee/creamers. front desk personnel was ok kind slow checking people specially when the line is long. may be the front office manager can open up another line instead of standing and watching the clerks do their job.

The room was looking a bit "tired".
The room was looking a bit "tired". the facilities needed upgrade BUT As usual, the staff were so polite and helpful. Buffet breakfast was excellent. I would highly recommend (in fact I already did to my Swiss friends and are booking soon) the hotel and we would stay there again next time we visit Manila. Most importantly, Hotel Club staff helped us greatly alleviate our strife when we have to change dates due to death in my family. Thank you to those concerned.

Manila during the typhoon
Of course with the flooding and rain , My experience was less then , But I would like to compliment the staff and the taxi drivers who did everything to make my stay enjoyable. Taxi's did get me everywhere I wanted to go , with some degree of difficulty . But I did get there and to me that is what counted. I cant wait to go back !!

Short drive from hotel
Eating in the room was mandatory the first two days as , I could not go anywhere due to flooding. But eating out is my preferred choice as it saves a lot of money. Shopping is also great in manila and a short taxi ride to some of the malls is worth your time.

Deluxe upgrade
Definitely better than the superior room. Bathroom had hot water and the room seemed to have newer furnishings. Lighting much more appealing to the main room too for a nicer atmosphere. Did not use internet this trip but used it with no issue several months ago. Bathroom sink in the deluxe room friendly for contact lens wearers. shopping mall is only about 4 blocks away if you need anything.

Short walk from hotel
When coming out the main entrance, turn left to cross United Nations Blvd. and walk about 4 blocks to the mall entrance. Mall is large with 3 stories. Mall of Asia is about a 10 minute cab ride with no traffic as well.

Renovations continuing?
The Manila Pavilion is a great deal more affordable than some of the other stays in this area. The lobby has been beautifully renovated and includes a nice restaurant, bar and lounge, pastry shop, coffee shop, and access to the Casino. Unfortunately, the room renovations have fallen short. The bathrooms have been slightly renovated, but the carpets, walls, and furniture are all showing their age. The staff is very friendly. The bar and lounge is a nice place to have a drink at night with live entertainment provided by one of the local bands. There is easy access to the Casino Filipino from the lobby.

Nightlife tip:
Short walk from hotel
You are a short walk from many fun comedy bars, lounges, and night clubs in the area. Robinson's mall in Malate is nearby and also has great dining options.

Hotel needs serious renovation.
Hotel needs serious renovation. Carpets, curtains, bedcovers....dirty. Unwashed for long time....leave alone unchanged. Bedsheets in fresh room had loose hair both times I checked in. Bed linens had tears. Single sofa was torn. Towels old and worn out. Smell of old dust and grime. Owner does not seem to be bothered as people coming in droves for casino and for location. Short-sighted view according to me. In favour...a) Very good breakfast b) Internet comes free and is fast c) Location is very convenient d) Pricing reasonable but does not justify the pathetic condition of the rooms/linens/towels. Will not stay again...will not recommend. However, if renovated and re-done I will be back immediately.
