The Manila Grand Opera Hotel, the only elegant hotel in downtown Manila, stands at the former site of the Manila Grand Opera House known for many years as the "theater with a history". The Manila Grand Opera House was an egalitarian landmark that hosted American officials, the first Philippine Assembly, prima ballerinas, Philippine divas and the world's top musicians, budding painters who later became national artists and all struggling and major stars of the country's vibrant music and theater scenes. Currently, the Hotel is located beside the Doroteo Jose Light Rail Transit Terminal on Rizal Avenue. It is a few kilometers away from domestic and international airports, the city's business and commercial centers and tour destinations. It has Wi-Fi Internet access, with dining and banquet facilities to cater to your business and personal needs. Hotel also offers free breakfast to its guest's.

For the price you can not beat it. Guess...i should not complain...if it is not the best location? It is quite far from the airport, but the Hotel does offer shuttle service to 2 malls. They have fresh seafood [best to get that rather than steak or
beef] Rooms offer 2 outer doors,so very quiet and peaceful here in the hotel. The food...especially seafood is excellent. Gambling Casino in the hotel....along with live music. Staff has been great here.

Not many taxis want to go to this
Not many taxis want to go to this hotel due to its location. Room partitions are not soundproof as i could hear my next door's alarm vibrating on my bedside table as i suspect the bedside table is linked to the next room. Towels are dirty and
smelly. It was a bad experience.

It is a nice hotel, spotlessly
It is a nice hotel, spotlessly clean, quiet, accommodating personnel, and beautiful rooms with a large receiving entrance for food delivery services. In addition, the hotel has a large enticing pool. The price of a one night stay is amazingly
inexpensive, the hotel would qualify as a four star hotel but with the booking price of only a two star hotel. It also has big well-provided bathrooms with strong hot and cold water pressure. Taking the shower is a pleasure. The WiFi facility was excellent with strong/ very good connection signal. The only draw-back is the view of the old, inner and densely populated city of Manila. I would not encourage tourists to go out into the surroundings of the hotel without an appointed hotel guide as it can be quite dangerous for them. Another advantage is that the hotel is just 5 minutes walk from the Light Railway Transit (LRT) station of Doroteo Jose which can bring foreign visitors to all the tourist spots and business dstricts of Manila.
