MAKAN MAKAN
Savor the best of Southeast Asian cuisine at Hotel H2O's main food and beverage outlet. With more than 150 dishes to choose from, Makan Makan is more than a restaurant - it's a veritable pan-Asian village where the culinary delights of Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, China, Japan and the Philippines abound. Roti prata. Dimsum. Coffee spareribs. Chili crab. Hainanese chicken rice. Sticky rice with mango. These are just some of the quintessential Asian favorites prepared fresh everyday by our chefs. Makan lah! Let's eat!
CLUB LOUNGE
Perched on the third level of Hotel H2O and commanding sweeping views of Manila Bay and the city skyline, the Club Lounge is the hotel's cozy rendezvous point and place to be. By day, it's a relaxing nook, where guests are served coffee, tea and cookies, and where they can browse the day's periodicals or the Internet via computer terminals. By evening, the lounge transforms into an after-hours hotspot. Wine, beer and cocktails flow, and on weekends, there's cool lounge music from the metro's finest acoustic and jazz acts. It's the place to unwind after a long day's work.

don't believe the hype

firstly, this is NOT a 4 star hotel. secondly, rooms advertised as 'park view' is a misrepresentation - the 'view' from my room was of a dirty swamp, and a grandstand and pool. half the window had silver film to block out the view and others looking in - being on the 2nd floor - you need to keep the curtains closed if you want any sort of privacy. next, the room i had was 500m from the entry - its a long walk! the hotel check in is on the 3rd floor of a building shared with the oceanarium and retail shops. you have to carry your luggage up steep steps to the 2nd floor then take a lift to the reception area. there were no porters at the arrival area to take care of your luggage. the hotel restaurant closes at 9pm! the room service menu is limited, predominantly fried foods and junk foods, and no vegetarian options available. the 'vegetarian' menu had one spaghetti with oil, garlic and chilli and shrimps, which were not noted on the menu! the descriptions were incorrect, ie, jalapeno and cheese (cheddar) bites, were made with cream cheese and so unappatising that we could not eat them. the service is the basic, robotic, rule following type where common sense does not enter. finally - this is a hotel run by locals for locals - there are plenty of other better priced options in manila - don't waste your time here.

Disappointed again

Im a repeat guest to this hotel. Second time in a row of two check ins- I was told that there were only single bedsand was offered upgrades for a queen bed - but needed to pay the premium. I found another hotel that I think is now my preference over this one,

GoodValueBut...

Some negatives: staff tried to make money if you have any additional requests. supply of shampoo and sops is rather small. Avoid the hotel shuttle - it's a rip off! Use the taxi. Positive: good location, clean and amenities are nice.

Not as great as it could be

The Hotel is inside of Manila Ocean Park, It seems more like a 3 star rather than 4 star hotel. Lay out of hotel is not that nice, the pool is a public pool for the thousands of visitors to the park. If you are traveling with kids its a great place to stay since your living inside and Ocean park though admission fees to the park events are not covered in your stay. The biggest problem with the hotel is that it is understaffed. I requested Ice each of the 3 days I stayed, the first day took 3 calls and 2 1/5 hours to get ice. The batteries in the remote were also dead, that took 2 hours and two calls to get take care of. The second day was just 1 call and 30 mins, but the 3rd day was another 2 hour wait. Parking is open parking same as the park quests, they just have a few slots roped off for the hotel guests you pay first and they give you the money back if you validate your parking. Overall, it is a unique experience with the aquarium in the room and all the fish, so I still recommend the hotel, but don't expect a 4 star experience. If you go with a 3 star mindset you will enjoy this hotel.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

It is quite near to Mall of Asia, 3rd largest mall in all of Asia, and for pampering, there is Wensha Spa, about 2 1/2 km away that offers full body message for 680 pesos with 6 hours to enjoy their facilities inclusive of a buffet with Asian food. Great experience for a massage and dinner at under $15.

No as impressive as advertised

Its a resort hotel if you wish to spend time in Manila Ocean Park. The place is noisy at night especially if your room is above the Makan Makan restaournt where at night they played loud musc till 11pm.

Enjoyed our stay here. Kids had

Enjoyed our stay here. Kids had fun with the aquarium wall inside the room. Looks clean and chic hotel but I saw some signs of wear and tear on the wallpaper(minor though). Still on a soft opening so rendering of service is not yet smooth but understandable. Staff are extremely courteous. Needs to improve more on provision of facilities. Like access to swimming pool would be better if there's direct access from the hotel. It's kind of awkward to pass thru the general public area of the Ocean Park going to the pool and you have to transfer to the jacuzzi(15minutes) once the sealion show starts as they will be using the area infront of the pool. Overall...as I have said this hotel is a good stay specially if you have kids with you. It has a very good potential to become one of the top hotels. I will comeback again when they are not on a soft opening anymore so that I can rate them justly.

Hotel 2O is a unique hotel, perhaps

Hotel 2O is a unique hotel, perhaps too big to be truly 'boutique'. It is located on the waterfront, appropriately, but at the expense of general city access/convenience. The 'water' theme is continually applied, and the Aqua room with fishtank wall, was wonderful - relaxing watching the fish from bed. But under the gimmicks it's another big chain hotel, at the mercy of its staff and procedures. The good were excellent, some were just trainees (at best). Excellent breakfast!
