Pre-Cruise
We went to Lima to spend a couple of days before boarding a cruise to san Diego. The room was great and the service was very good. The hotel is in a very nice area close to downtown and is the closest 5 star hotel to the airport and cruise dock. Would degfinitely recommend it to others.

Top quality for the price
We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. My husband was in Lima on business and I was joining him to experience the city, along with my 77 year old mother and our three boys. The hotel was great for all of us. It was very comfortable (loved the pillows and fluffy towels!) and an oasis to return to at the end of the day. The breakfasts were outstanding and the service top quality. Staff members were so friendly and helpful. While it is not in the heart of the city, we were happy with the location as it is a short taxi ride from anywhere. It was convenient and we could safely walk down the road to the water, experiencing some nice cafes along the way.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
If you are travelling with kids and they feel like a burger or a plate of fresh pasta for a meal there is a great little restaurant in the set of shops across the road from the hotel. The food is really great value and fresh and the Peruvian owner has just returned from several years in New York so speaks great English.

Not a 5 star...
The carpets in the room and hallways were very stained - the overall appearance is not of a 5 star hotel - need improving.

Just perfect
We went to Lima to attend a wedding and stayed at Melia Lima because its rating and the convenient location. My wife's family lives in Callao, which is a 20 minute drive almost in a straight line.Service was very good in spite of restaurant Tambo being closed for remodeling or restoration. Buffet breakfast (very tasty and satisfying) was served on a side salon. At reception desk service was very friendly althought not a hundred percent knowleadgeable. We showed our reservations through [...]which included FREE buffet breakfast but they had doubts the first couple of days. Likewise when trying to collect taxes in spite of us telling them that we reside in the US for the past 27 years. At the end, after hustling and showing them proofs, they waived these hotel taxes without any more comments or discomfort.

Excellent Experience
My wife and I stayed one night before spending time in the Peruvian Rainforest. It was well worth it. The service was excellent. The food in the restaurant was 5 star and fantastic. One caution, the hotel does provide a chauffeured shuttle service, but for an extra cost. The whole package made us feel like royalty.
