great location and services

Because of airline delays, we arrived at 2 AM in the morning. The staff was most helpful and quickly got us situated. The location was fantastic. It is a very safe area with lots of stores and restaurants. It is on a main thorough fare which has its advantages and disadvantages. Its easy to get a taxi or omnibus to anywhere in the city, but it is a bit noisy from the street traffic until late at night when the traffic subsides. The breakfast buffet provided good food and choices from tipical peruvian to eggs and bacon. We had a great time and enjoyed our stay.

There are many food choices from Papa John´s Pizza (across the street) to pollo y anticuchos a couple of blocks away.

Quaint, cute place to stay

Close enough to the main action in Miraflores but not right in the middle of the main tourist attractions. The decor/accents of the hotel were pleasant. The staff was friendly/helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent and we even ate at the restaurant for dinner and were pleased. They also offer you a free Pisco Sour upon arrival.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

When in Peru, do not buy your tours from the internet or the hotel. Go walk around Miraflores (or Cuzco if you travel on there) and find many travel booths that have excellent offers and prices on the same tours you'd find through the internet or your hotel. The prices may be cut in half or more if you're willing to go walk around and talk to a few tour booths. Example: Hotel would charge $40 (US) for a tour to Pachacamac. The travel booth we talked to in Miraflores wanted 15 Soles (about $5 US!). Same goes for Cuzco. We had 7 days in Cuzco (after Lima) and booked our Machu Picchu tour (and others) once we arrived and saved a lot. You will need to book that tour about 3 days in advance at least in case the train is booked up.

.Family and Business friendly

Colonnial Inn is good for family and business. Rooms are good size, bathroom was a little narrow. Phone in room was not working.Location is great, walking distance from lots of restaurants and shops. Good security. Restaurant was good for breakfast, lunch and dinner, people were very nice and friendly. would recommend it.

Good Place to stay

This is the fourth time we have stayed at the COlonial Inn in Miraflores. It is very convenient to most of the sights of Lima. The staff is excellent adn the rooms though old are clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is very limited compared to US breakfast standards but it acceptable and filling
