quiet santuary
really enjoyed out stay, the staff was very attentive, helped us with directions, printing out things for us and best of all, after getting into Cusco and needing a solid nap and acclimation to the altitude, we slept like babies due to just a perfectly quiet room and hotel in general. walking in and greeted with warm tea and they tell you to relax while they check you in--nice touch. We'd love to stay here again, a nice hidden jewel.

Hidden gem!
The Terra Andina Hotel exceeded all our expectations for our home away from home in Peru! We were met at the airport and taken care of with coca tea and a place to rest until our room was ready. All of the staff we met was concerned about making our stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. We can't say enough about what a wonderful experience it was!

Machu Picchu
We stayed here for three nights before going to Machu Picchu and then another night on the way home. The room was on the first floor and very nice. Not flushing toilet paper and putting it in the wastebasket was a new experience, but it's what they want. The walls, windows and doors don't do anything to muffle sound. It wasn't an issue at night, but just hanging out in the room, we could hear everything going on in the hotel. They have free internet that we appreciated, the food was excellent and you wont find better service anywhere. The location is a little out of the way from the Main Square, but not too bad of a walk.

The perfect location with the perfect staff...centralized to do anything in the area; including Machu Picchu. You can book everything from the hotel, which is a great convenience for the traveler.

Great Hotel
Cannot say enough about this hotel. It is in a great location a 5 minute walk to thePlaza de Armas. The staff could not have been more accomodating, answering any and all questions- when we left it was like saying good bye to family. Our room was great, the bathroom had a Jacuzzi, a separate shower and two sinks (great when you are trying to get ready for the early departure to Machu Pichu) One word of advice- when you arrive the hotel staff will brief you on adjusting to the altitude FOLLOW THEIR ADVICE, othewise it could be very unplesant

Good Location, Friendly Staff
Disclaimer: Been to South America three times now, this being the second time in Peru. Had my passport lost/stolen the last time in Peru (ten years ago), and ran into some aggressive people (a beggar and [*]) who may have clouded my image of Peru. In any event, more than anything else, security for my wife and I was forefront on my mind, and being a bit more expensive location led me to believe this place was a good choice.I was not disappointed - I felt completely at ease at the hotel. In addition, the staff was very friendly and helpful right from the outset (be sure to arrange in advance a free transfer from the airport to the hotel - the warning sign at the airport about the risks of taking unregistered cabs made me doubly glad I did).A trip to Macchu Picchu was arranged by the staff with ease (probably risky of me to not book in advance, I am sure...but that aside they made the process very easy). I assume there was a commission involved, but not much...$250 US dollars each cash, but the train ride alone costs $120. Then there is the park fee, two bus rides, and taxi transfer to the train station about 15 minutes away. No regrets on the $250. We both enjoyed the restaurant - reasonable prices for a very good meal. Again here, as elsewhere in the hotel, the staff was very friendly and helpful.I would stay here again if I were to find myself needing a place in Cusco, and would recommend it to a friend too. Don't expect to be overwhelmed with extravagance and you won't be disappointed. Do try to get a second floor room as the first floor rooms open into the courtyard area where the breakfast starts being served at 5:00 in the morning for the Macchu Picchu travellers.Definitely recommended...If I had one issue was that the beds were kind of small for a couple, but if I had wanted luxury I would have gone to Las Vegas!
