Good all around.

We had a nice room on floor 16th with a view to the sea. The room, food and service was very good. My wife told me all the time we should return to the same hotel next time.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

The new Museum of biodiversity is impressive. You shouldn't lose it. The architect is the same, Frank Owen Ghery, that built Bilbao's one.

Perfect Location

This was our first visit to Panama City and so we were really torn about where to stay. The Intercontinental Miramar was absolutely perfect for us. One of the best features is the location. It has a perfect view of the bay and is directly across from the Cinta Costera. This is a new walking path that goes from one end of the financial district right into Casco Viejo. My husband and I used it everyday. It is immaculate, well lit and perfect for any level of activity including biking. The hotel itself is a 4 star property. There is a beautiful pool, nice lobby bar, restaurant, great gym and spa. The rooms are not "amazing" but it certainly gave us everything we needed for a great vacation. We did check out other properties such as Le Meridien, Waldorf Astoria and Trump Towers. Those were definitely more upscale but we would not have traded in the location of the Intercontinental just to have a more glamorous hotel. We are so happy with our choice and would definitely recommend it.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Definitely walk (about 30 min) to the old town of Casco Viejo. It's wonderful with many excellent restaurants. We would absolutely recommend Veggie Moon and Tantalo. The food is amazing! Also, must go to the seafood district (Mercado de Mariscas) for ceviche. It's unbelievable and so inexpensive for the quality. We went almost everyday!

People are responsive. Location bad.

Hotel is good, but location at the center of Panama City is bad. Swimming pool was not working. Ocean beaches are at least 1 hour by car. Internet $45 for 5 days. Breakfast is not included and costs $30 from person. Very few people in Country speak English. 10 minutes walk from the ocean and you get to total trash. However, personal is responsive. Total impression is that it is still not time to spend vocation in Panama. Maybe in about 10 years?

My review of InterContinental MIRAMAR PANAMA

The hotel room was large and fit two full size bed, a chair, a desk area and plenty of space to move around. There was adequate space for hanging clothes. The closet area contained a large full lenght mirror so someone could get a full view of themself prior to leaving the room I liked the view we had from the room because we had an ocean view, a skyline view, as well as the pool and front court yard. The bathroom was separate from the vanity area and there was a wing with a long counter. I felt that the cost food in the hotel was extremely expensive. A simple breakfast containing just two eggs, bacon, toast and coffee was about twenty-five dollars for two people. The closest restaurant to the hotel was several blocks away which was not convenient if someone want an inexpensive snack late at night.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There were a few nice restaurants in the area. However, again you had to walk several blocks to get there.
