Right on Panama Canal
Watch the ships enter and leave the Panama Canal from your balcony (pay only 15$ extra to get canal view room; well worth it). Also, if you will be taking the ferry to Contador Island in the Pearl Islands you can walk to the ferry dock from the hotel. Hotel has a TGI Fridays connected; outside and inside dining (English/Spanish menu, but don't expect the wait staff to speak or understand english)

Out of the way but great views
This was a nice hotel with excellent food and a great view. It has two drawbacks: (1) It isn't close to anything other than the Amador Causeway (and the Gehry Biomuseum after it opens); and (2) The rooms are incredibly noisy due to both the hard tile floors and a sort of linkage through the AC systems. When someone closes the door to another room, it just echoes through the hall. If you have a car, don't mind taking a taxi, or are part of a tour, it's good.

Christmas in on the Pamana Canal
I just returned from 5 days and nights at Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Panama Canal, Panama. The location right on the canal was great—I sat at the pool and watched the ships go by. The place is undergoing a renovation- I stayed in the new area, had a view of the Bridge of Americas and the canal. The room was clean- everything comfortable. The staff was nice and depending on who was working very helpful. The drawback is the location—it isn’t by downtown or Casco Viejo. You have to cab everywhere—even down the causeway. Cabs can be spendy—it costs $30 round trip to Miraflores locks and $30 -$40 roudtrip to Casco Viejo and downtown. I liked the location- it was relaxing. The free buffet breakfast was fine- the food rotated. The place was quiet and clean. I would stay again.

Hotel not near anything
The room was clean however it was poorly organized. The breakfast was horrible. There was only once choice of places to eat. The menu got really small. The hotel is not unique and the cost of transportation to places of interest with the hotel taxi service was extremely expensive. This hotel is highly over rated and not worth the price considering the cost of transportation.

Great resort hotel
Great location to spend a few days right by the canal and in view of the famous bridge of the Americas.Without asking they bumped my reservation up from a budget room to a suite the size of an apartment with great views.good buffet breakfast always included.When in Panama I will always stay there
