This hotel is in a great location in Stavanger, walking distance to restaurants, bars, shops, the ferry terminal, and museums. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel itself quite and uncrowded (we stayed on a Sunday night in August). However,
with the window open just a crack in our second floor, street facing room, there was a ton of noise from trucks and street cleaners going by early on Monday morning - we were awoken several times. Breakfast was included (typical in Norwegian hotels) but the spread was more limited than what we had found in hotels in other cities.
Finally, be sure your reservation includes the exact number of people staying in the room. We booked a queen size bed, but accidentally searched for and thus reserved for one guest instead of two. When we arrived at the hotel, we were charged an extra 200 NOK (about $30 USD). The hotel was not willing to negotiate this even though in the US the rate for booking a queen sized bed usually assumes double occupancy.
Great location in the city and only about a 7 minute walk from the train and bus station.
The staff was very friendly, and spoke very good english. The hotel was very clean and it is in a good location. You walk out the front door and you're a minute or two walk from the harbour where you can take boat tours, the pubs and
restaraunts, shopping, etc.Norway is expensive,so it is pretty good value considering how expensive Norway is.
