This is a very high quality hotel. The management are justifiably proud of the traditional warm Norwegian mountain hotel welcome that awaits their guests. This is a modern chalet style property. This hotel is located just outside the centre of Geilo in quiet surroundings.

Mold!

Described as a high quality hotel, I had high expectations on this hotel and perhaps this is why I was so dissatisfied with it.First of all, I had ordered a DOUBLE BED at [...], but much to my dissapointment the room contained TWO SINGLE BEDS put together. When mentioning this to hotel staff, I was told that this was the same in all of the rooms, but they could strap together the beds. Ok, fine.Second dissapointment was that the bathroom was absolutely stinking of mold and moisture. The walls in the shower/bathtub was covered with black mold between the tiles and the floor was cracked and was lacking filling between some of the tiles. It was horrible. The good things about the hotel room could not balance out the terrible smell from the bathroom, but I will mentioned them anyway:- Very large room.- Very large panoramic windows (that could be opened to soak in the fresh mountain air).- Good food buffé (not included in the price)- Big flatscreen TV in the room.- Quiet.- Indoor as well as outdoor pool with bathrobes to hire.- Spa treatments avaliable.- Gym/health section.
