The room is dirty and small, the floor is sticky and the halls are very dirty. The elevator is very old. The hotel need a complete restoration. I saw many hotels around that look much better than this one.

Decent, good value for Norway, but not special
Great location on wharf right next to Hakon's Hall, and very near the Flybussen Airport bus stop. I had a single room on the 2nd floor - a double bed, ensuite, TV, desk, telephone and wardrobe. The room was clean and comfortable, but nothing special. I could hear noise from the two rooms on either side, but it was not excessive. The hotel offered free internet w/ two PCs on main floor, and a lovely sitting area near reception. Best part of the stay (in addition to location) was the wonderful breakfast buffet - hot and cold, wide variety, large dining area. A great way to start your sightseeing day.

Bryggens Museum is a nice way to understand the history of the city as you start your visit - very near this hotel and an informative museum.

A great place to stay in Bergen
Hotel is conveniently located at the old harbor. Picturesque neighborhood. Construction in the neighborhood caused evening noise. Super fantastic breakfast buffet and much more amenities than expected in a "budget" hotel. Convenient to all the attractions in Bergen.

The "unicorn" restaurant was fabulous, but like everything else in Bergen other than this hotel, was a pricey restaurant. I do not think there is a cheap option for dining. However, the seafood is spectacular.

Bergen hotel
The hotel was great once we found it. It is set back from the road and hard to see, especially in a rainstorm. A sign out by the street would have helped. Parking was a little hard to find. Wonderful breakfast with a great variety and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

not bad for only $350 a night
had 3 people in a ´double´ room, which just meant there was a sofa with a fold out couch (no extra privacy). Smallish room, but then again this is considered a budget hotel in Norway (even though for this price you can stay in a 5-star room in most other countries).

First Hotel Marin is the place!
Location was everything. Able to experience Bergen in a historically real way. In walking distance to the train station, cable ride, city center, museum, shops and specular dining.

Thon Hotel Bergen Brygge
hotel was in a very touristy area. It did not advertise itself as a budget hotel but its sign noted that it was. There was no soap or shampoo and the shower ran hot and cold. The temperature was poorly regulated. We paid about $185 per night which was vastly more than deserved.

Thon Hotel Bergen Brygge
This hotel is wonderfully located for walking all around Bergen. BUT...the room was so small we had to sidle by our suitcases to get to the small bathroom. I was shocked. It is an old hotel and well worn. The beds were very comfortable. The staff was great & friendly. Hotel in the perfect area. If you truly want BUDGET & location, this is the place. There are hotel choices nearby. I didn't realize what budget on this site meant and I will be much more attentive to that description. It was clean, just old and worn. The breakfast is ample, varied and fresh. Also, temperature control is to open your window.

If you get a day,or hours, without rain you must take the Floriban up the mountain. It is an incredible view. The cafe up there is within the tourist price range of the city so enjoy the great ravioli inside with view. Souvenirs are everywhere in the Old Bergen wharf area. Take money. Everything is expensive by USA standards.
