At the heart of Bergen, this 1970s hotel was renovated in 2005 and is within walking distance of our famous harbour, fish market, shopping area, Funicular, Grieg Concert Hall and theatres. Our cosy Pub, serves beer and wines as well as good homemade food at very reasonable prices. The inner courtyard is a popular meeting place on sunny days where we serve meals and drinks. The guest rooms come in various sizes, and each is decorated in pale tones, the contemporary furniture is crafted from dark-grained hardwoods with wooden floors and comfortable but simple furnishings. The Gateway to the Fjords has always something to offer no matter what time of year. Bergen is an international town full of history and tradition; a big town with small town charm and atmosphere. Bergen Travel Hotel in Bergen has 63 rooms.

P-hotel

This was a great central location close to everything. The bagged breakfast left something to be desired. Norway has amazing bread but this had averageish bread and was a let down from my prior hotel's spread. As there wasn't much of a lobby and I entered a side door I never saw/spoke to the staff other then at check in. The gal was new and not yet acquainted with her job. My room was on the large side & the bathroom was good. They didn't clean daily but that seems to be the Norway way. Don't stay on a Saturday night if you don't want to be kept up by the nightclub below.

BEDBUGS

We stayed one night at the hotel in room 403. After boarding out ship we discovered that my wife had 17 bedbug bites and I had over 36 ! The room was obviously vermin infested. We have asked for a refund of our room payment.

Good value & location

The hotel is in a great location. The room was small, but very new & clean. The staff was very helpful. The only negatives were the noise. We woke up to a truck outside our window unloading metal pipe for scaffolding for a building next door. This was not the fault of the hotel, though. Next, the staff was vacuming & spraying cleaner in the breakfast room while people were eating breakfast. Very loud & annoying.

Bergen Travel Hotel

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Free access to the Internet was a great advantage. Room is far too small 10 feet by 10 feet. Lot of street noise at night. Room was very clean. Excellent location for getting to downtown Bergen.

Construction noise

We were placed in a room in which construction was taking place nearby in the hotel. The noise began at 7am. The workers played loud music as they worked during the day. Also our room was above the entrance to the pub which was on the first floor. We could smell cigarette smoke if we opened the windows from people smoking out on the sidewalk in front of the pub.
