The good, the bad, and the really ugly
I complained about the internet service since the first day I arrived. They did not much for the following 4 days. This was a service that I paid for. As per biz travel, internet connection is a MUST!!! I had to go down in the lobby to have a better connection coz they said that my room was on a floor under maintenance, that's why the WiFi signal was very poor. I even wrote them a letter to complain about this and they never replied back. They could just simply move me to another room and solve the problem since they had plenty of empty rooms at that time in February 2011. I'm going back to Managua for biz trip again but this time, I'm not staying there!!! Not ever again!!!

Crowne Plaza - great place to stay!
I took this trip to Managua with my brother. Our father recently passed away and he left us some property we needed to deal with. The staff at the Crowne Plaza was extrememly helpful since I do not speak Spanish and my lawyer did not speak very good English. The guys at the front desk Thomas and Oneal were great translators! On my previous visits, I stayed at a smaller, family run hotel and I prefer the more commercialized feel of the Crowne Plaza. Also, there was a small earthquake while we were there but in the hotel, we didn't even know since it was built with earthquakes in mind.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Once thing I would say is that the food in the hotel restaurants is way overpriced. Walk around the corner to La Cuerva for Tona's and Churrascos! Also there is a mall right across the street where you can buy minutes for your cell phone and the food court has a great variety of food.

Ok but better options in Managua
The free shuttle from the airport was nice. The property is very clean. All of the staff outside of the girl who checked us in were nice. However THEY HAVE THE WORST HOTEL BED I HAVE EVER SLEPT ON!The restaurant located directly behind the hotel is an awesome place to get a drink. When we go back to Managua we will most likely stay at the Hilton Princess. It has a better location and hopefully better beds.

Great Hotel
The hotel staff was amazing. Everyone from the front desk, bell staff and bar areas knew you by name. It reminded me of the days when hotels belived that customer service and prompt attention to detail were important. We have nothing but nice things to say about the hotel and its staff. My wife and I are in our 60 and well traveled. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Managua. This was our first trip to Managua and we could not have been more pleasantly surprised. The views are fabulous and the hotel itself had all the amenties that you would want or need for business or leisure.
