Good Value

Compact room with two double beds. Quiet room. Unable to open windows so had to rely on airconditioning for room temperature. The staff was friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. Very centrally located. Has a small garage which we had a reservation for. Good value for the money. Fridge and teapot in the room.

Nothing Special

This was a typical hotel room you would encounter in Europe, compact and efficient. Good location in the CBD to walk .

Great City Center Location

Parking a rented vehicle is always a problem in urban settings and we did not know that we had to reserve a parking spot in the hotel's parking facilities. We had to park in a nearby parking facility because the hotel's facility was full and parking is an additional charge at this hotel (NZ$25/day). [...]. Other than this glitch, the hotel room was clean and comfortable with a refrigerator and close to many of the major sights, restaurants, etc. of the city center. It was a good value for its location and ambience.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

The cable car near the hotel provided grand views of the city and access to the Botanical Gardens overlooking the City Center. The cable car drivers were an excellent source of info for fine dining at Shed 5 along the waterfront, pricey but excellent food and service.

Clean, quiet, and comfortable

I have nothing negative to say about this hotel. After a week of putting up with noisy hostels and shared bathrooms, the Ibis was absolutely heavenly. I would definitely stay there again, and I would definitely recommend it to other travelers who are looking for the same thing I was: clean, quiet, and comfortable rooms; a convenient location; and a reasonable price. Thank you!

Budget tiny room nicer than expected

We needed a room for 5 nights on a budget but didn't want to stay in a backpackers. The budget room with the queen bed was really small but clean and had all the amenities we wanted and we loved the location. Quick walk to everywhere we wanted to go. Other than the initial staff member who checked us in (who was frazzled, rude and snotty and lectured us as if we were children for not booking a carpark in advance..we knew the risk and had other options if none were available), everyone was helpful, very friendly and we enjoyed our stay. We would recommend this hotel to friends and family coming to visit in Wellington and anyone wanting high quality on a budget.
