Great For A Short Stay
Second time staying here. Not disappointed,had room on 14th floor overlooking Featherstone Street, with 2queen beds, even though I was travelling alone. Staff very helpful, and effecient, especially when assisitng with the storage of luggage. Location great for walking to most tourist attractions, harbour front etc.

Short walk from hotel
Catch the airport shuttle bus from the train station. Run frequently and are quick and much cheaper than a taxi fare.

For a $400/nt hotel I was surprised at the very small room, no turndown service, only instant coffee in the room, and a very old tube TV.

I really enjoyed my stay here.
I really enjoyed my stay here. I arrived into Wellington early and was at hotel by 10am. I was allowed to go straight to my room. The staff were lovely. I wasn't well my final night and it was no trouble for a late check out 1pm either. I felt very comfortable at this hotel. Well done Rydges!

Innercity Wellington hotel-nice surprise
This is an extraordinary Holiday Inn. We were first pleased by the location as it is just one block from the train station where the ferry shuttle drops off. It is also very convenient to Wellington's terrific wharf area for eating and enjoying the waterfront as well as the cable car, botanic garden, shopping, and museums. Our room had a view of the harbor with a very comfortable bed, handy kitchen area, and luxury bathroom.

Short walk from hotel
Walk to the cable car (by McDonald's on Lambton Quay) and take it to the Wellington Botanic Gardens. This ia a vast, gorgeous park over a 100 years old and full of twists, turns, and hills with hydrangeas, roses, and venerable trees.
