A large super king bed, in a warm
A large super king bed, in a warm sunny room on the 22nd floor. Hotel very convenient to city and transport. All staff were courteous and efficient. A very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Breakfast was cold. No service
Breakfast was cold. No service available for cooking omelettes etc. Not nice to get cold bacon and ice cold scrambled egg. Service slow as well as took ages to get the first cup of coffee. room service was excellent however, for food. Dinner fine as well but breakfast a disaster both days.

We would have rated the hotel
We would have rated the hotel excellent in every area but for the fact we booked the club room to ensure it was a special occassion.I must say everything was excellent until the morning when the facilities to provide a hot breakfast were shocking,although it looked superb the food was so cold it was, to us anyway not worth eating.We actually went elsewhere to eat.It might sound like a small issue but it is the detail that wins the day.Everything else was well above average.

We booked on line and upon arrival
We booked on line and upon arrival found our room differed from what we expected. We spoke to reception in this regard and they upgraded us immediately for half price. The service was excellent, friendly and efficient. We had a lovely weekend in Wellington, the proximity of the Hotel enables you to walk everywhere if you wish, take in the wonderful restaurants etc. When next in Wellington we will be staying at the James Cook, thoroughly recommended.

Check in was excellent. I arrived
Check in was excellent. I arrived early wanting a 2hr early check in, no problems. I often travel alone so value the concierge services, which were extremely good. When I asked about cinemas a young concierge suggested I visit the historic Embassy Theatre which was lovely. Great stay in Wellington - unseasonably good weather and really enjoyed the hotel.
