Minaret Lodge is a sanctuary, situated in a 2 acre park like setting, just a short stroll to the lake, and a 10 minute walk from the Wanaka town center. The Lodge features a mud brick construction with plastered finish, incorporating local schist stone. The separate guest room chalets, constructed using local timbers &non toxic materials, tastefully furnished, in a setting of tanquil ambiance. each room has fine furniture, local art, private en-suite, and verandah. Facilities include spa, sauna, tennis, petanque, mountain bikes, ski storage & drying room. Gourmet breakfast and aperitifs included in the tariff. Dinners by arrangement. The other amenity includes Barbecue area and Reception.

Gary and Fran are very friendly

Gary and Fran are very friendly and warm hosts. My stay in their Lord of the Rings-themed Barliman's room was most memorable. Because it was very busy during 'Warbirds over Wanaka' over Easter, Gary made the effort to book nearby restaurants for me and fellow lodgers, which was much appreciated. He also crafts a cool gourmet brekky! Fran's bubbly enthusiasm was a joy to behold. Thanks for a great stay! Highly recommended.

1 night in wanaka

Gary & Fran were so wonderful. They gave excellent recommendations on dining, hiking, directions. They invited us for drinks & hosted the most wonderful breakfast. The free wifi was a huge plus and if I could do it all over again, I would stay more than 1 night.
