Timaru is located half-way between Christchurch and Dunedin, it is the gateway to some of the most spectacular scenic and sporting attractions in New Zealand. Within easy driving distance are ski fields, lakes, glaciers, rivers and the Southern Alps. The Grosvenor is an intimate property ideally suited to the independent traveller with their own transport. SE1008 Affectionately known as the 'Grand Old Lady of the South', the Grosvenor is very much a part of Timaru's history with ornate styling dating back to the 19th Century. This gracious low rise property is situated on a corner block and is very centrally located. Situated in central Timaru close to the waterfront and just around the corner from the main shopping area.

A bit dissapointed with the two

A bit dissapointed with the two single beds pushed together to make a doulble, there was a rail down the centre of the bed (very uncomfortable). Also were not told of the extra cost because the room was a theme room, otherwise not too bad.

Even though this Hotel is in the process of being 'made over', the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Good rates and location. Fantastic huge bed and 'fun' theme rooms made the staff most enjoyable.
