This hotel sits on Lake Te Anau and does offer rooms with some views. The breakfast was just ok, basic buffet food in warmers, nothing fantastic. The mattresses were pretty old and sunk in the middle. No air conditioning but open windows kept the
room cool. The bathrooms were nice and had been upgraded. This hotel worked for the one night stop over but we wouldn't have wanted to stay longer.
Very average motel that we booked only because of a lack of availability for the 1st of January night. The motel is well presented on official website, pictures are very yammy but in reality it is far different. Just an average place with rather
small rooms with no view even though the website and the motel description mentioned lake view rooms. As a matter of fact only hotel restaurant has limited lake view across the road hidden under trees. Our room was clean. A little disappointment was that we were convinced at the reception by the hotel staff to book and purchase via them a ferry tour to see Milford Sound even though it was obvious that the weather will be extremely bad. As a result we spent time and money for nothing. It would be nice if they warned us and advised no to go or
It is one of the motels in Te Anau you can stay at if you are on your way to the Milford Sound. Not better or worse than the others, average ,clean priced OK
not a place you would want to stay several days for vacations.
Stayed here for 4 nights. Very convenient if you plan visiting Fiordlands national park. (The Kepler track is within 5 min drive from the hotel.) The hotel has a decent restaurant but the breakfast is pricy (23 NZD).
The view from the restaurant
onto the Te Anue lake is fantastic. The room was clean, had a small fridge and small table. The only annoying thing is that "free" WiFi is only for 20 minutes a day and works only at the lobby of the hotel, but this seems to be a common deal in New Zealand.
