''Simply the Best'' - in Tauranga CITY CENTRE!You really do get it all at Durham Motor Inn - a quality 4 Star Qualmark property offering superb value for money, excellent customer service and spacious, comfortable rooms to suit everybody. Hotel is set in attractive grounds and all rooms are on ground-floor level, with free off-street car parking. It is next to the courthouse and just behind Baycourt, just a short stroll to everything Tauranga City Centre has to offer, including restaurants, cafes, shops and the CBD. It makes sense just to leave the car in hotel car-park and walk everywhere! Hotel has 20 spacious Studios or One Bedroom Spa Suites. Hotel offers One Bedroom Spa Suites each have a separate bedroom and lounge, and each bathroom has a large spa bath & separate shower cubicle. All rooms are serviced daily, and have kitchenettes, microwaves, plunger coffee, complimentary tea and coffee, hairdryers, iron and ironing boards, ceiling fans, electric blankets, and clock radios. Wireless Broadband internet access is available throughout the motel. Cooked, continental or light breakfasts can be delivered daily in-room, and hotel also have tasty in-room "Heat and Eat" meals available as well as well-stocked mini-bars. It is ideally located and set-up for a longer stay, with a guest laundry, a fantastic, relaxing swimming pool in an attractive setting and car parking right outside your door. Friendly, helpful staff who went out of their way to find further information about local sites of interest for us. Quiet place to stay, great spa bath and very comfy bed. Would be good to have had sky TV and a bigger TV, and the couch was not the most comfy. But over all a great place to stay and so close to town. Thanks very much.

Fantastic location and really

Easy and cheerful check-in. Nice

Easy and cheerful check-in. Nice studio room. Only downer is the poor shower - inadequate pressure. Possibly need to enforce parking discipline - the clown next to us decided to overlap two parks. Would happily stay again, though would hope the shower could be improved.

Most of the aspects of the hotel

Most of the aspects of the hotel were good. The person working at the desk was fine upon checkin but later becase extremely rude when I asked her for some help.

The hosts were very helpful.

The hosts were very helpful. I was a little surprised at the 'averageness' of the room, given the rate charged. For example, I have stayed in accommodation that charged lower rates and provided more in-room benefits such as (plastic) shower caps, tissues, soap for bath as well as hand basin. I had specifically booked this property to have a spa bath but was disappointed when it broke the first night we stayed; again, the male host was fantastic about it and fixed it, but I didn't risk using the spa after that in case it broke again. I was also surprised that there was only a push-in button lock on the door - the addition of a chain lock would have been beneficial, especially when travelling with a child who could have unwittingly unlocked the main door & got out into the carpark (or beyond). The location was fantastic, very easy walk to the main shopping/restaurant district and reasonably quiet. Would stay again - if the rate was more in keeping with what is offered.
