Enjoy the superb FRESH-WATER PRIVATE MINERAL "HOT SPA POOL" in EVERY room!! Perfect!!You really do get it ALL at Karaka Tree - a Qualmark 4 star motel and offering fantastic value for money, excellent customer service and spacious, comfortable rooms to suit everybody's needs. Hotel is set in attractive grounds directly across the road from Lake Taupo with free car parking & it is the only motel in Taupo with geothermal mineral freshwater hot pools in EVERY room. Hotel has 24 spacious Spa Studios which are located upstairs & 1 Bedroom Spa Suites which are located on the ground floor. Every room is extremely spacious & the One Bedroom Spa Suite offers a separate bedroom and lounge area, as well as a private courtyard area with your fabulous geothermal mineral water hot spa pool and attractive brand new outdoor table and chairs. The Spa Studio has a separate room with a geothermal mineral hot spa pool. All rooms have an en-suite with a vanity & walk-in shower cubicle. All rooms are serviced daily and have kitchenettes, microwaves, tea/coffee, hairdryers, iron/ironing boards, electric frying pans & clock radios, plunger coffee is available. Wireless Broadband internet access is available. Cooked, continental or light breakfasts are delivered daily in-room on request. The Hotel has a DVD player available. Karaka Tree has a top restaurant within easy walking distance of the motel and It is just a short drive into Taupo city centre with its unique shopping, restaurants and clubs. All of hotel's rooms are non smoking, but ashtrays are provided around the motel for outside smoking. Stay with hotel and you will appreciate why people come back again and again. It really is a home away from home. Hotel also offers Barbecue area, Dry cleaning, Reception and Smoke-free hotel. Please note: We do not provide your credit card details to any accommodation provider and as such you will be required to provide a credit card imprint or equivalent at check-in to cover incidental charges. The person registering at check-in must be at least 18 years of age. In addition, to eliminate identity fraud, the accommodation provider will ask you to provide photo ID at check-in to ensure that your identity matches the booking identity. A record and/or copy of this photo ID may be retained by the accommodation provider to minimise the risk of fraudulent credit card usage and for verification purposes with your credit card provider in the event of disputation. This identification information may be supplied to us by the accommodation provider.

Only one night stayed but this

Only one night stayed but this place has everything the weary traveller needs, plus friendly staff. In general Taupo Motels are overpriced but with Karaka Tree you get the deep and expansive spa bath in the room as an extra for no extra price. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to use it but have on other occassions and they are the best, deep and relaxing. The rooms are big in comparison to most motels and there is a comfortable feel to them. I will definately stay there again

Great place

I spent one night in this hotel. It was a very pleasant experience. The hotel is nicely located as it overlooks the lake. Mineral bathtubs in units are fun. I found a bed very comfortable.

We were a bit disappointed because

We were a bit disappointed because we couldn't see the lake and the facilities were quite basic. We thought a four star may have provided a little newer kitchen facilities. Everything just felt a little dirty. No duvet cover on bed, just sheet covering inner. No sky which disappointed the bloke. Great nights sleep however, motel was nice and quiet!

Old motel with average facilities,

Old motel with average facilities, however clean and functional. Near major road so very noisy at night.

Very clean & not too far from

Very clean & not too far from town. Friendly cleaning lady. The motel is very close to busy intersection so noisy from trucks. The chap who booked me in wasn't overly helpful or friendly. Noticed we could hear everything being said from room next door so not a lot of wall insulation. Price was goodthough & included mineral spa.

Very handy locaton, unfortunately

Very handy locaton, unfortunately the other guests on the night we stayed were very noisy on there return to the motel and walls seem thin.
