Queenstown Novotel Dec 2012
The Novotel at Queenstown was very comfortable, close to downtown, and very clean. The grounds are close to the waterfront and hiking trails. Real Journeys arranged free pickup for our Trip to Milford Sound from the hotel, which was convenient. Close to cafes and restaurants, with free wifi available from their terminals in the lobby, as well as 30 minutes free wireless in the lobby. Longer connects require payment. We definitely recommend this hotel. Friendly staff, with lots of recommendations.

A lovely gem of a hotel!
This hotel's location is absolutely ideal. Moreover, even in a non-premium room, we still had a lovely view of the Queenstown Gardens. The hotel itself also has a lovely design. The rooms are a bit small, but comfortable. I would stay here again!

You can park in the Wilson St. Garage for $10/day and come and go from there as often as you please if you arrange this through the hotel.

Very good location
The town centre is just across the road and the Queenstown Gardens right next door. If you can afford it go for a Superior or Garden/Lake View room. Our room was on the front of the hotel on floor 3 and was noisy when coaches came to pick-up and drop-off people. Internet access is extremely pricy for more than your 'free' 15 minutes a day although there are 2 iMacs in reception that can be used in 20 minutes slots - if you can get on one!!

Go to the Patagonia if you need to use wi-fi, the coffee is good and you can stay as long as you like.

Ok experience
Wi-fi restrictions for a hotel of this sizemore are ridiculous. Don't count on getting much done in the time and data limits they allow.

Was told about a pre-auth on the
Was told about a pre-auth on the credit card but wasn't told it would be NZD50 per day. Result: Very embarrassing when our c/c declined (we'd saved it for a special purpose). Weren't told where our room was (there are multiple stairs and elevators). Sincere staff however. Tried to assist once we pointed out the failure of information provided and our embarrassing experience with a top retailer. Spa is good but feel pressured to be out within time. Can't fault standard of cleaning and room presentation. Outstanding service from cleaning staff. Great location - don't know if I would go back.

Located at the edge of the downtown
Located at the edge of the downtown district. In about a minute, you can be eating, drinking and shopping your way through Queenstown. Also located next to Queenstown Garden filled with flowers and trees. The rooms are nice and clean. Maybe a little small. I recommend getting the rooms with a patio facing the lake. Great place to enjoy some drinks with friends at the end of the day. Front desk very friendly. Seems to be staffed with people from all over the world.
